Speeding up your computer?

do you know any methods to speed up a computer? share them here so we can try them out! they do get slow from time to time and it's annoying! xD

-removing any unwanted programs/files that you don't use any more to free up space
-Use a basic theme/layout (no screensavers or fancy colours)
-Use disk defragmenter (Windows)
-Run anti-virus scans regularly
-Use 'run' (command prompt) -> type in %temp% and recent (not together, separate times) to bring up and delete all temp files/shortcuts. (Windows)
-use 'clean up' programs such as CCleaner

Well, here are some ways I would go about it:

• Uninstall unused software
• Disable start-up programs, like skype or spotify
• More RAM
• New, better hard-drive
• Better (Or newer) operating system
• Solid State Drive

Also, don't defrag if it's at the 5% range. One of my friends said that defragging causes damage, but the internet disagrees for the most part, but it's pointless to defrag if it's already below 5%

Here are some
-empty your ram/memeory
-Defragment it
-Update your laptop/computer if there is any
-Get an ativirus and clean all the tracking cookies
-Uninstall softwares you dont use them

- Clean your registry with a Registry cleaner software
- Defrag using another program instead of the default windows one, and do it at night when you're not doing anything, or sleeping. It'll be much better this way.
- Clear Browser History/Cache
- Uninstall unwanted programs, and temporary files
- Use an Anti Malware, and Adware program to remove viruses from your computer.
- when playing games, and you have a crappy gfx card. Use Compatibilty mode, and switch your windows theme to Windows 98 Classic.
