On top of being a huge vidya nerd/weeb, I'm actually an avid follower of sports.

My main interests are cricket and football (soccer for you NA folks), but I do take in every other sporting activity in the world, and I was wondering if anyone else here keenly keeps up with either !

I used 'sports' because it's a broad term, and I feel as if the demographic here would probably not be too interested in it... (hope I'm not offending anyone :p)

Anyways, would love to discuss this topic !

If you'd like, to start it off post your main interests and the team you support.
I obviously support my school and local teams, but seeing as they're a bit unknown to the world I'll say my general teams

For Cricket- West Indies. I'm Caribbean through and through, and I always watch my boys go out and play. I'm thinking of traveling to Barbados for the Australia tour ! I also tend to lean on whatever team has Trinidadians in the IPL, so I definitely keep up with KKR, MI and CSK. And obviously in domestic leagues I support my country ^^ I'd like to think me meeting Lara in 2004 is one of the best memories in my life, after a few personal stuff of course

For Football (soccer) - Chelsea FC. Yes, I know. I'm a Chelsea fan, fan of perhaps the most hated club in the world. I've been supporting them since I was a kid. Their kit in FIFA was the only blue one that I saw. I think it was FIFA 2000.. ?? When Fat Frank joined the Bridge I was already keen on him, since he was considered the prospect of the future, and he's been my favourite player since. I tend to not follow a particular International team, but during the World Cup I usually bandwagon the team I believe is most likely gonna win (don't shoot me !) I also firmly believe that Messi = Ronaldo. :dead:

Anyways, I hope to see some other sporting enthusiasts amongst the ranks here.
Discussions of this topic always have a bit of passion to it.

I used to love cricket. Now it's boring and time-consuming to me, both in playing (which I haven't done as in actually play for a long time) and the televised form; I wish T20 would become the standard form because of the hot cheerleaders because it's the shortest and most exciting. I haven't watched a full match in over a year, but I watched part of the 2015 final.

My favourite team is Australia because they keep going no matter how much it looks like they've lost, which is why they win. Remember when Faulkner did that 1-wicket victory over England even though they needed about a hundred runs with 9 wickets down? \: D/ Amazing stuff. My favourite cricketers are Afridi, Faulkner, Chris Gayle and ... :panda:

Glad to see someone with a coloured name is a cricket fan too. I actually prefer Tests lol. Test>>T20>>>>>>>>>ODIs for me. I just love relaxing and taking in the slower format of the game. To each his own I suppose. I'm a bit of a fast bowler myself, but injury has taken its toll on me. Now I just play cricket recreationally and focus on schoolwork and socializing.
