The creator of Super Smash Brothers has forever been under the impression of the latest game released/worked on would be the last in the franchise. Originally, there was only going to be one Smash Bros game, and the that was the first one, the one for N64. But people loved it so the creators decided to make a sequel. Super Smash Bros Melee was supposed to be the biggest, best, and final Super Smash Bros game. The creators were all under the impression of this being the last one so end on a high note and make this game the best it can be. Then fans wanted a new and improved version. So the creators got back together and worked on Super Smash Bros Brawl, the supposedly "final" game at the time. The creators were sure that fans would be done after a trilogy of SSB. But with kids' parents being scared to let their kids get the game because of the rating and "dark" and grim look, fans wished for a new one that would be a little nicer-looking. They thanked their lucky stars when they found out about the "double-feature" Smash game. The creators were like," Let's make this game look nice and friendly to little kids but still fun for older ones." So, trying to satisfy fans, the creators created the SSB for 3DS/Wii U. Fans are happy, for now, so the creators can relax still. The creators hope that they won't have to try to top each SSB game they make, hoping people will think it's better. They want this one to be the last because they're afraid if they make another, it won't be as good. So what do you think? Do you think that another Smash Bros will be made?

i think they will keep making SSB games because their just to good in fact MK8 and SSB saved the wii u they just cant stop. there's more and more chracters to add most of nintendos sales come from the SSB series if nintendo just stopped they will lose alot of money i know nintendo can lose for generations and still be not near dead.Thats my reason

Listen, think of Nintendo as a biblical sheep herder, and think of all the nintendo franchises as the sheeps in the flock. And think of Super Smash Bros. as the prized sheep, a mix of the strongest breeds. If you were a sherp herder, would you kill your best sheep like the rest of the sheep, and the many ones before it? Think about it.

I think that they will keep making smash games. With all the virtual reality sets like project morpheus and the oculus rift out nintendo might even put smash on a virtual console, hopefully not a disaster like the virtual boy.
If there was no smash then there would be no game which combines all of Nintendo's characters in one against each other. Smash also makes nintendo a ton of money and I'm betting they don't want to miss out on the profits they might get from another super smash bros game.

SSB is one of Nintendo's biggest and most profitable franchises, I don't see any reason why Nintendo would stop making new games. There's always room for improvement in the games, so it's not like they couldn't top the previous game if wanted to. And as was stated above Smash is the big crossover game of Nintendo's major franchises, which means as long as Nintendo exists, Smash Bros will as well.

there definitely not stoping, they said brawl was the last one before that

As much as I would love a new Smash Bros., it is possible that Sakurai, the creator of the series, won't return to it. If you've ever seen any of his interviews, he talks about getting like 4 hours of sleep a week (usually in the office, not at home), having an existential crisis, and having nervous breakdowns occasionally. These are stressful games to make, it seems, and he has mentioned that it doesn't help when people get mad at him for nerfing characters, or making a game not appeal to hardcore players. Now nintendo could very well make another smash bros game without him, but he's helped make the every game in the series, so it's possible future sequels may lose what made the games so great in the first place

It does look like there will be another Smash Bros game. You just have to give Sakurai a few years and we have a new Smash Bros game. I don't believe that this series will die off since it is one of the best selling franchises. However, we just have to worry about Sakurai's current state. He doesn't get enough rest, which is pretty bad.

Oh GOD NOOOOOO!Ha I'm just joking but it may be the end of all l other smash gamess coming out cAuse o ALL the doc that they can make and stuff I mean they already made so much like Roy ryu lucas and meet so as DLCcharacters and a lot of stages iT will go on for quite awhile

I'd have to say that, with all the pressure Sakurai is getting from the fans to develop the game, even after its release,it would probaly take a while until the next one.For those who didn't know, the hard-working creator of Super Smash Bros.(and Kirby as well) had to go through development of this new instalment with some pain on his arms. That's why some of you saw him doing "that pose" on the Smash Direct from April of last year.I do give my credits for the guy, because his final product is massively fun to play, but at the same time,I feel like he needs a break little after he has this rather daring task.Sure, the DLC offered so far is amazing, but I prefer waiting until the new NX console to come out,so they don't put all of their ideas left on this one in particular if they are going to make more games of the all-star fighting crossover that is known as Super Smash Bros.Just my opinions though.

Even so far , Super Smash Brothers for 3ds and Wii U are still pretty fun and exciting , so I wouldn't really see a need for a new game for the series until pretty much a super long time , plus with the DLC that is making it even more better , This one is still living :D Creators work really hard y'know :p

Although it seems Sakurai does not plan to continue on his series... A company won't stop a well-profitable franchise. It brings in too much money, and stopping it would seem illogical. There will be a predecessor unless popularity goes down or they just decide that they're through.

Well yes and no. Well I say yes because if the fans are looking forward to new ones every year then it's Nintendo's job to make one. And if so, then the fan base will decrease, and money will stop flowing. And no because Hal employees may just leave and pursue a more money making job and not everyone there would stay there forever.

Obviously the company is diminishing because Masahiro wouldn't be staying for ever you know?? Also at some point the fan base can decrease at any moment.

Exactly and i would be very sad to see an amazing game at it last peaks. But hey at least we have an amazing ssb4 game and many other old smash games to remember and they are very good and we could have tons of fun if super smash bros 4 is the last game. But if it is we will remember it forever

I think Smash will remain VC until the end of time and there will never be another one again and just DLC for the latest versions. I'm sure it took a toll on Sakurai so unless he's really into Smash he will forever be trying to reboot different game series or just making more Kirby and Kid Icarus games I thnik.
