This is the craziest thing I've seen yet in Mario Kart 8! I hit a guy 4 times in a row with a star and he kept going (and even passed me!). If you want, you can skip to 0:25.

I don't think the mushrooms he had played a role in this strange occurrence...

Either that kart has the best acceleration (and speed) in the world or I call it a bad internet connection problem or that Lakitu is rigged. I'm leaning more on the lag/ internet connection idea more than anything.

Yeah, internet lag really screws things up sometimes since karts start to teleport or experience godly acceleration and speed. I think Nintendo really needs to work on Mario Kart netcode (both for 7 and 8) since these are probably the only Nintendo games that are both competitive and timed. I agree that it can also be a user-end problem, and that can be addressed by other means too. The end goal is to have a seamless online multiplayer experience not just 95% of the time but 100% of every single race.
