I previously bought super mario bros. the lost levels nintendo eshop. it's super hard, but i like it hard. i love how hard this game is. my sister, on the other hand, thought nintendo made the game way too difficult. It's actually the hardest mario bros i've ever played. but it's one of those games where i start playing and can't stop playing afterwards.

If you've played any version of this game, what did you think about it? Did you like the challenge, or was it too much for you?

Luigi's shoes are made of soap. He slips, slides and skids anytime he tries to stop, often resulting in untimely death. Mario's boots were made for walking, because his soles have superior grip – but inferior lift. His jumps don't reach the heights of his taller, younger brother's, often resulting in untimely frustration. In the end, you're in for a challenge no matter which plumber twin you choose. You're always stuck dealing with their cramped, crippled shoes.

Indeed, The Lost Levels is a hard game. That's maybe why is wasn't released in America, initially. Instead, we got Super Mario 2, which is definitely much easier than this game. I don't doubt the fact that I may never beat this game. It will take a lot of effort to get this game down pat.

So hard. If you keep working at it, keep practicing, you may beat it in time. A long time, sure, but time ventually, Or, you oculd get New Super Mario bros 2, and get the invincible tunuki suit after failing a level some times, because new super mario bros 2 is 32 times easier than the lost levels

hmm... thanks for telling me that. i may consider getting it for that reason.

Most of the new Mario games do have the invincibility stuff, but it just makes the game really lame. You are legitimately invincible, unless you fall off of a cliff. Super Mario 3D World (and I imagine 3D Land did as well) did this, but if you beat any of the levels with it, you were ineligible for the final bonus world.

i see... i understand why you think it's lame. but i personally like that kind of stuff... i always have. : ) I wish the lost levels had something like that.. that would be nice...

You can do it. As birdy had said, the newer mario games are easier. I still love mario 3d world though, because the crown world is stil difficult for me. The rest of the game is okay. :) The lost levels sound interesting, I'm going to look them up in a few minutes. :)

Too hard, but not impossible as Tubular from Super Mario World or Champion's Road from 3D World.

I LOVED Super Mario Bros. the lost levels! The reason is because I like games with harder gameplay that people nowadays don't provide as much (other than Epic Mickey 3DS and Donkey Kong series). To me the difficulty is definitely pretty hard but I like it because it actually feels rewarding to beat an incredibly hard level.

I'm pretty bad at the original super mario bros. let alone lost levels xD Normally I like a challenge but I struggle to beat the first game even. I still enjoy both though, difficult but still very fun.

Yes I would agree that the Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels were really weren't so easy as I expected them to be and I was -to be honest - really surprised at this game . Yes the New Mario games have a few hard levels but this one really takes things to... well newer levels . It is great to see this game and I really enjoyed playing the game , even though technically I haven't finished it as of yet

Super Mario Bros: The lost levels was one of the hardest games I ever played. This game is a side-scrolling, platformer game similar in style and gameplay to the original 1985 Super Mario Bros. save for an increase in difficulty. The game's difficulty picks up from near the end of the original and progressively increases. The Lost Levels introduces obstacles including poison mushrooms, level warps that sets me farther back in the game, and wind gusts that redirect my course mid-air.

This is one Mario Bros. game that I simply have a strong and outright dislike of. I can hardly get past the second boss! Well, maybe I didn't try hard enough, but why can't you swim in the water?! Who made this game? It almost feels like some sort of dark and shadowy counterpart to the original, like Dark Super Mario Bros. or something... XD
