Here's a little video comparison (not by me) on the disc and eshop versions

It looks like the disc version is faster than the eShop version at times. Too I think the eShop version would be better because you don't have to worry about the disk crashing.

Well, overall, they look the same really. 1 thing is for sure though. The resolution increased to 720p. It looks a lot more better, not hd like what I would have liked but 720p, which is considered low hd. I already got the disc so I have no need to buy it. But get it if you do not have it, its amazing.

Disc version is triumphant over the eShop version, which kinda surprises me in some aspects. The Wii U has a higher system performance rate than the Wii, so one would expect the load times for SMG2 to be the other way around. I wonder if it's like this for the other eShop Wii games as well.

I see that the Disc version seems to be faster at more aspects than in the eShop version . I can't really explain since I really thought that the eShop version was going to be a lot more better and faster . But I think that it's really not noticeable much but still they are quite the same at certain points .

The disc version was faster sometimes for some reason Wouldn't the eShop version be faster/have better quaility because it is already loaded on the game and directly on the device? There isn't that much performance issues/differences so it isn't that bad to get the eShop version.

I didn't notice a lot of differences between the two versions' quality, although at first,I thought the eShop version was brighter.I notice though that in most cases, the disc version has faster loading times than the download one, which did surprise me,considering this is newer version of a game released for almost 5 years ago.
I think it works fine during gameplay, and I'm sure it's a good choice of getting the game if you haven't already.Personally,it's almost as great as the first Galaxy game(Yeah,I prefer the first one,but the second game is still very good).

I could say the disc version is much better because it looks a bit faster than eshop version and both of them look and work the same

The disc is much better. Even if the eshop version is cheaper (well I think it is) I'm still sticking to the disc of super mario galaxy 2. It would be cool if the eshop version could run off of the wii u and go on miiverse, but I don't think it's quite possible to do that.

There's not much difference apart from the eshop version appears to be faster, nintendo could have made have better graphics at least. And I'm still sticking to my disc which I got near enough when it came out. I <3 that disc and I'm never in a million years replacing it for some eshop version thats slight faster

I recived an email from Nintendo about this, and I was surprised. A Nintendo Wii game that is emulated on the eshop? Count me in! But when I actually got on the Wii U eshop, it wasn't there. I also searched it, and still nothing. Same with the Metroid Prime Triology. Was it a limited time only?
