i thought the diolouge was still great. The gameplay, while being different, was still fun. Honestly they tried to change it up, but they made sure not to ruin the best parts, the funny diolouge and slightly serious story.
I can’t help but feel like the hate on super paper MARIO led to Nintendo thinking they had to change everything.

Actually I think the opposite. Because they changed the game's formula from the previous game, that fans were mad. And they haven't changed it back since :(.

I have to agree with you on some points, the dialogue is good, the story is great, and the gameplay is fun. It's just not an rpg. It has half of what makes the predecessor good, and the next game in the series, (Sticker Star) Loses the other half. Personally I liked the partners in The Thousand Year Door better then the pixels in Super Paper Mario too. Overall I didn't hate Super Paper Mario, and it's better then the games that come after it, but not as good as all the ones that come before it.

Yeah. What I’m trying to say is if people didn’t hate on it they would have kept the good stuff it had because the good stuff it did have wasn’t enough to please the fans, so they tried something completely different
