Surgery?

Has anyone here had to have surgery for anything? Perhaps it was an emergency procedure, or just a request of your own. Feel free to share your experiences!

As for myself, I have a medi-port in my chest to receive chemotherapy. Getting it in went well and was easy enough. I have also had a laminectomy to remove a blood clot from my spine. That recovery was rather painful, and I've had to learn to walk all over again because of nerve damage. It was an emergency procedure.

I'm curious because I'm into medical stuff. :3

No, I haven't been involved in one yet. And I hope I never will have to. =(

A few times, all on my arms

When I was 12, I was thrown off my bike and broke the Ulna and Radius in both of my arms, and had to have surgery on both of them.

Later than year I re-broke the same bones in my left arm, because they actually hadn't fully healed. It required surgery again. They put plates in, which a couple years later needed another surgery to remove them.

Then in 2008 I broke the Ulna in my left arm for a third time, which again required surgery.

I had my adenoids removed when I was 2

I went to surgery 4 or 5 times. Once for my tonsils and 3 or 4 times to heart surgery. I have some chronic disorder in my heart which knows to have violent break outs from which to have it stopped, I have to be clinically dead for 3 seconds. Sucks to be me. I also have been on both ends, as the guy that needs surgery and the guy helping the surgeon.

I had a kidney stone blasted, and a stent put in. It was supposed to be day surgery, but I ended up spending 3 days in hospital. Kidney stones are nasty anyway, but one too big to pass on your own is dreadful! :dead:

-I had tubes in my ears twice when I was a baby (don't know if that counts)
-Had my tonsils out when I was 7
-Broke my right wrist which had to be set, but nothing major (which happened a few months after my tonsils)

Other than that, nope. And none of those were anything major either. My mom says when they set my arm I was only put under for about 15 minutes, even though it took a total of 8 hours before the procedure at the E.R. >_> Not fun, especially since I was a screaming 7 year old at the time.

Had adenoids taken out.

I go boxing, so I was sparring with another member. He blocked a hit and he punched my chin with an uppercut, that dislocated my jaw. I also broke a tooth that caused some internal bleeding, and I had to get an oral surgery.
I got my tonsils taken out because I had a major throat infection.
Last year, when my friends went hiking, I slipped on a smooth rock and I fell on my elbow, that broke my bone. They had to insert a plate to properly align the bone and let it heal. 1 year later, I had another surgery to extract the plate out.
When I was a baby, I had this surgery. I do not know what it was about, although I know it was something related to my stomach.

I've had two gum procedures, I had a lot of excess gum so I had to get it removed because it was turning my healthy gums a different color.

Ah, I had that too. I just got an abscessed tooth pulled and the abscess drained. Bacteria drained into my gum socket because my tooth chipped off.
