Do you hate swearing in video games? Do you wish developers would put in an option so you can dub swearing into less offending words?

I personally don't really care, but a friend brought this up to me and I'm just curious how you all feel about it.

I think they use swearing as an easy way to develop characters. The logic is, "the more they swear, the more they look like real people! Right?" And to a point, it works. It shows how gritty and human a character is, until they overdo it and that character becomes a caricature of what they are representing.

I personally don't mind it, but I think an option to dub it out would be good, as I know many people are offended by foul language.

It doesn't bother me. But on games, there is a warning that the game may contain swearing (on the back with the age rating) so if someone might get offended, then don't buy it. xD

Honestly, it annoys me if used too often and games with that language will have a higher rating and therefore kids won't be able to play them (and I don't like 18+ games normally).

It really doesn't bother me. Not that I grew up around a lot of swearing or anything, I just never cared about it.

Having an option like that would be a good idea but it might take away from the story telling and characters.

I don't mind swearing in Video Games whatsoever. I do mind, however, the people that complain about swearing in Video Games. That's we have a rating system called the ESRB (PEGI if you're in Europe) to warn potential consumers about the content of said game.

In fact, I find that in certain games, profanity brings out the emotion in characters during gameplay. Having a dumbed-down version of a game without profanity is just basically a game with a storyline and a bit of interstitial speech, and nothing really special.
