Talking Pokemon?

Aside from Meowth (Team Rocket), do you think it would a good idea for Pokemon to talk rather than just say their Pokemon name in future games or the anime (if it'll exist)? would it just ruin things? share your thoughts! :3

I think it would, because Meowth is probably a extremely rare genetic mutation (I hope they reveal what happened in future episodes) in his/its DNA, and probably wouldn't happen to another pokemon. Or maybe he was a scienific experiment, who knows :p

It would be cool, I guess, but everybody is used to Meowth's voice because it was since the first episode-ish where he was introduced, and pokemon was new, so everybody was like meh and then easily accepted it. Now, when I think of a talking pokemon, I saw a Jigglypuff with Sylvester Stallone's voice or something xD

List of talking pokemon:
Meowth from Team Rocket. Everyone knows that
Mewtwo from the first movie. Quite the insightful one if you'd ask
Lugia from Pokémon the movie 2000. The same movie also had the talking Slowking.
Lucario from the movie with Mew. Made sense for the whole aura concept.

There may be some more that I missed out on but that's quite a lot
 
Some Pokémon that talked in the anime(aside from meowth) are Shaymin,Arceus,Mewtwo,Reshiram,Lucario,Virizion,Deoxys,Keldeo,Manaphy,Jirachi,
Ghastly,Kyurem and Lugia.I really hope Pokémon can talk in the future games and the anime so we can understand them.
 
Talking pokemon shouldn't ruin things too much. only issue would be a GIANT cast of voice actors (720 pokemon). Talking pokemon in both games and anime would make it alot more fun with more variety.
 
Actually @Chopper Mewoth isn't talking because of a rare Genetic, He's talking because he wanted to impress a Female Meowth but she still didn't find much interest in him <.< Don't ask me how I know. I watched Pokemon since I was little and read the PokeDex books xD But besides that, a lot of rare legendary Pokemon can talk >w< Jirachi must be like the MOST ditzy one of them all. I honestly don't think it would ruin the episodes but if ALL of the Pokemon can talk, it would kinda be eh Since Ash has a special communication with Pikachu that nobody else has with their Pokemon.

Only the ones who appear outwardly intelligent or cunning - no offense to dumber Pokemon :p - should be able to talk, like Meowth, like Lucario. Every Pokemon talking would be too much trouble for everyone. You can recycle the same voice actor only so many times. More than that, they'd become distinct characters and keeping up with so many personalities would just be bothersome - 'the cast is too big.'

Besides, there's something cute about Pokemon not being able to talk and their owners still understanding their every emotion. :cat:

Yeah, like in real life with pets :cat: It's a stronger bond than if the poke could just speak out everything since the trainer shouldn't know what the poke is saying, except they're biffles for life so they do xD

Oh, I didn't watch a lot of pokemon movies so I didn't know that legendaries could talk >.< Jirachi must sound weird :cry:

Jirachi actually sounds really cute and doesn't move his mouth at all . It kinda sounds like it's talking through his mind or something o.o

Nah it'd become too much like digimon. Mega evolution is already like digivolving
