Nintendo Eshop is one of the places where you can sometimes buy game that is usually in stores right from your own home(Y'know, except you have to actually go there to buy an Eshop card. And the game's,like, literally right by you... .-. ). Anyhoo,it's really exciting to buy a game from there,no lie. :D The brief feeling of bliss is truly elating. :) But then, there's the added tax.... >__> *Dramatic music plays* What the heck?? Why would add tax to it?? When we bought games from the Wii's shop,it was just points,no hidden fees. .-. I still don't get why it's required instead of us just paying for the game with no change left over.

I believe in some states still aren't taxed for using the eshop such as Alaska? I really do miss the days of downloading stuff off the Wii hop without tax. In fact since we are taxed for the eshop I avoid it for retail titles and only use it for download only games. I still get my retail games tax free since I order off of Amazon and my state isn't taxed for it yet. It sucks waiting , but every dollar or so helps :D

@Mel :Well,I guess when you put it that way,I understand. :) I'll miss them days, that's for sure, but like you said, every dollar helps. :p

Tax is just how they make money it is just normal and is calculated in which part you lived or is living. There is a zip code you can enter though to pay for no tax or vey little.

Yeah, taxes are kind of a pain in the neck to me, but no matter how much tax I find on the eshop, it is still cheaper than the retails at my country. Just for you to know, retail sells mario kart 8 at 125 dollars, it's crazy! You can find it cheaper even with the taxes included on the eshop!

Try putting this zip code 99551, I tried it and I got no taxation on any of my purchases since then. I hoped this has helped you in your shopping with the eshop. I was ripped of some of my favorite games before I entered this code, which was quite annoying since you would want to save that money for more games or later discounts. I wish I knew this before then I would have saved money for more games.

I'm not taxed and I put it in California I think

Na, the 3ds eshop should not have tax. That way, your eshop credit disappears really quickly. Anyway I change my country to the US and put a zip code that has no tax to be paid. Play eshop games for no tax!!!:):):)

no tax i see kids saving 15$ for eshop and tax maybe thay wher just buying a game for 15$ and tax will not help you so the end :greedy:.

No tax for eshop. ._. That'd make more people want to buy digital games. (Think nintendo THINK) Taxes are annoying, and I don't think they should be in the eshop, because we need to save our money and the government is just going to waste ours repaying the debt they owe to China. Nuff said. >.<

The tax is required for everything in most states/provinces of US and Canada, as the government is what upholds the economy, and they think that they require a share in everyone's money.
I agree, taxes are insanely annoying (Buying a 50$ eShop card for a 39.99$ game? No thanks), but that's just how this world works
However, hope exists: if you don't have much important stuff downloaded on your 3DS system, delete your NNID (If you're in NA) and create a new one, with California as the city. California has no tax whatsoever, so you save a lot of money from that. There are some California ZIP codes you can find on the internet. I have done this myself, I have no regrest. You can buy eShop card at pcgamesupply.com (US region) And have them E-mailed to you.

don't, even get me started with tax! First of all tax is so high in Canada! The tax in Ontario is 13% which means if you want a new game that just release you would have to pay 45$ + tax which is 50$! even with the eshop trick, the lowest tax in Canada is in Alberta (I think) with is around 10%!

I'm most definitely not going to publicly post ways to tax evade..but they exist. Not every state/zipcode is charged tax. If you truly feel you are being robbed, then you can simply look up a way for this to happen. I'm not saying I do this (welllllll), but I agree that tax prices are very high in some places, so I don't feel that it's very unjust to use a zipcode that doesn't charge tax.

There are many things in the eshop that are amazing . Normally i wouldn't mind tax but then it sometimes gets a little annoying because you might have enough money but then there's tax
