I was battling paceygym and got creamed. My battling got better, but still. I even brought in almost a whole team of high level legendaries and still got destroyed! lol i'm a little rusty on the battle front, so forgive me. I want to hear your battle loss horror stories! Show me your scars! No need to be ashamed. Share them with me/us. Have some fun. Put a hilarious spin on it! I'll post all three of my loss stories tomorrow, but i've been on for awhile and it's bed time! lol

Do battles in story mode count?

There I was, having just arrived in Mountainous Kalos. It was raining and I was up to my ankles in mud. I'd just come out of a dark, damp, depressing cave. I had wasted about five Pokeballs trying to capture an Absol - even when it had about 2 HP left, it still escaped. And then this guy comes up to me, right, and he says he and his Mienfoo walk the mountains barefoot. My Pokemon barely had any HP left and none of them were all that effective against Mienfoo. I pulled my hair, I begged him to stop hurting my cute Pokemon. But my Pikachu, my now-Delphox (who was still a Braixen then), my cute, gentle Emolga, all of them, all of them fell victim! I finally gathered up my babies and scurried to the Pokemon Center, tears in my eyes, having for the first time lost a Pokemon battle.

I'm sorry but I laughed a little too hard at your story :hilarious: but don't feel bad because story mode beat the crap out of me too. Brawly, to be exact...

My team consisted of Espio the Grovyle, Daemon the Poochyena and Castor the Wingull. We'd defeated Roxanne with no problem and, after sorting out some stuff with the Devon Corp, we headed off to Dewford Town. At first, I was tempted to head straight for the gym but Brawly had a reputation of being a pain for beginners to deal with, so I decided to forgo the gym and stumble through Granite Cave to get access to Slateport for some extra training.

A few day later, we head back to Dewford, ready to take on Brawly after subduing all his gym trainers. Things seem to be going well as we take down his Machop and Meditite. I smirked confidently as he released his final pokemon, Makuhita, knowing that Castor, who swept his other two pokemon with ease, would be able to take down the rotund fighting-type. I called out Wing Attack, watching with sadistic glee as Castor knocked over the Makuhita and thinking that I had the fight in the bag.

Imagine my surprise as the Makuhita staggers to its feet and I gulp loudly as a dark shadow appears over Brawly's eyes, leaving only his grin visible. I feel my stomach plummet to my feet as he calls his attack, "Reversal!"

"OH! MY! GOD!" I scream as Castor is launched into the wall, leaving a horrible crack. My beloved Castor had been...killed by Brawly. Forgetting completely about the battle, I run over to my downed friend, gently picking up his body and cradling it in my arms lovingly.

His adorable, beady eyes blinked up at me wearily as he croaks out his final noise but I know what he'd said.

"Did I do good, trainer...? Did...I...do...good...?"

And that was the end of Castor the Wingull. I just happened to be playing a Nuzlocke challenge and I didn't even like Wingull, but when Brawly took away my Castor...I think I legit cried for a few minutes  It still hurts a little bit. I don't think the pain will ever go away. R.I.P. Castor. Trainer still loves you...

@PersonSP . You'll write an amazing story.

There I was on Mt. Silver... After going through the rocky mountain and cave, I was standing on the Summit, in the snow, facing Red. The Red. His back was turned on me as if he didn't want to battle, but I was determined to fight the champion. The snow fell gracefully onto Mt. Silver while I slowly walked up to the master. I stepped up onto the stairs, one by one. Thump... Thump... Thump... Once I reached the peak, I faced him. His back was still turned on me, but not for long. I talked to him. He faced me, but there was no response. Even with no response, a battle... Began.

"Go Typhlosion!" I yelled. My level 68 Typhlosion began the battle. Red sent out his Pikachu... His level 88 Pikachu. Uh-oh... I thought. I was totally not prepared. Even without my preparation, I was determined to destroy the champion. My quick Typhlosion used Flamethrower... But the Pikachu was quick, too. He used Volt Tackle, demolishing my Typhlosion. "Urgh..." I murmured. Although the Pikachu received a big recoil, it didn't seem bothered.

I sent out my beautiful level 80 Ampharos. Let's fight lightning with lightning... I thought. Although it was a terrible matchup, my Ampharos never let me down. I began the lightning Pokemon fight by using a nice Power Gem, but this Pikachu was faster. It used a powerful Volt Tackle, and got a Critical on me. My majestic Ampharos fainted (but with some style). How did this Pikachu destroy me... I pondered. The Pikachu received some recoil, again.

One by one, I sent out all my Pokemon, hoping to beat Red, except I was easily defeated by his powerful team. Once my team died, I fled to a Pokemon Center, and rested up my Pokemon. This... This cannot be... I thought. I later did some training, and was determined to one day... Hopefully one day... Beat the champion, Red...

i appreciate the imagery! And don't feel alone. lol Red stomped me repeatedly. I need an incredibly diverse team to beat that crafty guy! I must have been awesome for the game to remember what a great trainer i was to include my original character from Red version. lol In all seriousness, my biggest problem was that darn pikachu. it took a good ground pokemon with good defense in the end, but i eventually beat that ONE pokemon. of course by that time he had already taken my entire party out. lol we'll chalk that up to bad planning. lol thanks for the story!

Okay, so here's my battle loss Tragicomedy. So last night i was battling @paceygym. He was nice enough to trade me a shiny Beldum and he invited me to battle. Mind you, i had 2 freaking badges as i had to start X over (it was digi download and the save got corrupted. New memory card. lol) So, dubiously, i said sure. I explained my situation so he went easy on me by using 1 pokemon. He used a Breloom. I'm thinking to myself "Okay, i'll just load up my team with some of the good pokemon i transferred from black version" so i brought in Emboar, Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, Charmeleon, and of course the Beldum i got. The battle began and ended with his ONE pokemon destroy me with one hitter quitters. It was a massacre. I naturally laughed it off because i did get a couple hits with the Beldum (level 10 at the time), but i was utterly defeated. So i got my rematch. i used my legendaries that i got through wonder trade. He used his whole team. Once again, that breloom of his whipped me like a red headed step child. I did knock it out though (thanks Virizion) and even took out his Ariados with my awesome Emboar, but in the end his team was too much and i blacked out. I did pick up my pokemon and scurry off to safety, though. ;) So for the third battle, i loaded my team with nothing but legendaries. He brought out his big guns. His exploud destroyed me without hesitation. Still, though. it was fun, and our live chat trash talking was pretty darn funny. But yeah, i proved my masochistic streak in pokemon battling last night. lol
