Yeah, that's right! I'm going to do a 1 vs 1 Pokemon X/Y challenge!

The rules are simple: We play the standard route for link battling (Two-Player Match, Single Battle, Normal Rules, Handicap Off), which will mean it's a regular single battle with pokemon set to level 50. Most important to note though is that you can only choose ONE pokemon when selecting the pokemon to battle*. One caveat though, no uber pokemon is allowed. Only Pokemon/Items/Sets that are OU and below by Smogon standards are acceptable. (ex: Kangaskhan is allowed because it's NU, but Kangaskhanite is not allowed. Xerneas is not allowed because it's uber. Gengar is allowed because it's OU, but Gengarite is not allowed.) If you don't play by these rules after you placed the challenge, it will count as a forfeit so READ CAREFULLY. I will give one warning if you break the rules, but if you choose to ignore it and continue to break the rules, it will be a forfeit. Do note that if I disconnect when the battle starts, it's very likely that there was something on your team and you should check if you get a notification from me on this website regarding that.

You ARE allowed to have six in the team preview. However, only select ONE when choosing which pokemon to battle with.

Keep in mind that not all legendaries are ubers, and not all ubers are legendaries. For example, Blaziken is an uber although it isn't a legendary. Check the smogon link I posted for more details.

Bet as much PC as you like, and if I accept your offer (no less than 5 PC), we'll battle. For obvious reasons, if I don't accept your bet it won't count as a forfeit. Please pay your bet right before we battle. If I win, I keep the bet money, but if you win, I return DOUBLE of what you gave me. However, no refunds for forfeits (I'm just doing this to prevent troll challenges. If I happen to be the one who should be disqualified, I will pay the amount I would pay if I lost.)


The example below might help explain if you don't get the reward system:

RandomA bets 5 PC and pays to naagza. RandomA loses, so naagza keeps the 5 PC.
RandomB bets 5 PC and pays to naagza. RandomB wins, so naagza pays RandomB 10 PC.
RandomC bets 5PC and pays to naagza. However, after ignoring a warning regarding rule infractions and not making appropriate changes, RandomC's challenge is counted as a forfeit.

At the moment I'm accepting just 1 challenge per person per day, but I reserve the right to make exceptions to this rule.

*Special case for teams with Zoroark/Zorua where I will allow TWO pokemon to be used (because those pokemon use Illusion). In this case, the lead pokemon can be Zoroark/Zorua and the second pokemon is its disguise. HOWEVER, you cannot switch pokemon and if the lead pokemon dies, it's game over.

Legendaries aren't allowed, they are 'uber' Pokemons. Here's the link for the OU Pokemon List (Note that they haven't made the X/Y one, but there's still the B/W one, so it may still help)

Only Pokemons that are OU (OverUsed), NU (NeverUsed) or UU (UnderUsed) are allowed.

It's basically anything that isn't uber. It'd take too long to compile the full list. Just check smogon (Google is a valuable friend).

The only legendaries that are allowed are those that are not ubers (they were made NU/UU/OU for a reason...)

....no. That's completely different from what I just said.
Read this. And pokemon in uber are not allowed. As far as I know, Xerneas/Yveltal are the only new ubers this gen

  • Banned Items - A team cannot have the Pokemon Latias or Latios with the hold item Soul Dew on their team.
  • Drizzle + Swift Swim - Using both a Pokemon with Drizzle and a Pokemon with Swift Swim on the same team is banned.

Don't see how you're confused when it's all clear

In OU, you can't user ubers.
You can't have those abilities.
You can't use Soul Dew (as if you could obtain it anyway)
You can't use a pokemon with Drizzle and a pokemon with Swift Swim (not that it matters because there's only one pokemon used)
