The Fate of Yoshi

When I was first introduce to the Mario franchise when I was a little boy, the first character I liked was Yoshi because he was a dinosaur and he was cute. And whenever I would play a Mario game, I would always play Yoshi because he was always a favorite. But nowadays, I feel Yoshi is just there to make momey, just to be on merchandise for money. I never beat Yoshi's Island yet, bit it was a truly stellar game. But with the recent Yoshi games, it doesn't feel the same. He only feels tacked on in the New Super Mario Bros games and he gets the least amounts of trophies in Smash Bros besides G&W and R.O.B. I just feel Yoshi deserves better than how he's treated. He only feels there now in Mario games and his recent solo games don't feel awesome. Nintendo needs to treat Yoshi better because he's more than Mario's steed.

I don't think they're treating Yoshi any differently than say Kirby or Donkey Kong. I'd say the amount of love they get is all pretty even.

Sure, both of the recent Yoshi's Island games weren't very good, but Yoshi's Woolly World is looking to be really good.

I think you're just focusing on the bads. :O

I agree he is a heck of a character but I don't really think he is being underestimated, totally the opposite, I think nintendo has been powering him up since its appearance on the super mario world game back in the snes. then they took him to super smash 64 and recently he is the host of several games, well he is the host of his own snes game too (I was forgetting him)

To me Yoshi is giving Nintendo a lot of money off of his games and since there was a discount for one of his games he became even more popular.Yoshi is cool though just flying around in the sky and having fun but I think Nintendo makes money off all Nintendo characters and most of them has all the popularity just like Yoshi.
