So Little Mac has a color scheme that looks like this:

96fb8145afaebd33db2355d2dadbbcf7.jpg

But do you know why?

Well Sakurai quoted this:

"Here’s wire frame Little Mac re-envisioned from the original Punch-Out!! game. The man that actually drew the pixel art wire frame in the original was none other than Shigeru Miyamoto. He said he drew the pixels for the wire frame on graph paper."

Basically, thats what Little Mac looked like when his orginal desgin was drawn on graph paper.

What do you think?

Have fun!
