The Memories of a MK7 Player

Back when the 3DS came out, a few games came out. Two games I got were SM 3D Land and MK7. SM 3D land was extremely easy. So I pretty much went on to MK7. When I finally beat all the cups with three stars I immediately went to the online mode. When I first played, It was amazing! But I wasn't as good as the other players. So many glitches and shortcuts (all of the glitch shortcuts are patched). I remember playing against I guy named Fox. We would always be neck to neck during races. We would weirdly see each other in a lot of races. I could never beat him. I never really had the chance since my 3DS broke.

~END OF GOLDEN DAYS OF MK7~

Once I got a new 3DS on Christmas of 2013, all I did was play MK7. I tried looking for Fox, but I never found him. Most early MK7 players were gone. I was pretty sad, but then in 8th grade mos of my friends were getting 3DS's. Since they were getting 3DS's, I recommended MK7 as their first game. Once they got the game, I started training them in our private MK7 community. They started becoming extremely good! After all the training, we came to a decision. We wanted to create a competitive team called the FC Speed Stars. During our battles, we never thought there was an actual community online hosting tournaments. When we found their website (MK Boards), we were too late. MK7 tournaments were dead. Everyone was playing MK8. So the team disbanded and now it was just me again. Still playing online trying to find Fox.

In present day 9th grade, my best friend finally got a 3DS and MK7 from one of the retired members of the FC Speed Stars. We play a lot of online now. I've always wanted to get the team together one last time. But when I think about it, it's pretty much impossible. To this day, I still play MK7 with my best friend. I still look for fox.

Chances are if he's like a die-hard/gottagetthenewmariokart, then chances are hes probably on 8, ask around on other forums or make a YouTube video

This is really sad. I was bad in the one match of online I played but after looking up advice from players online and training relentlessly I got pretty good, yet I haven't been able to participate properly in a tournament yet. 'I still look for Fox,' is the saddest thing ever, mate I wonder where Fox is now, in his life.

Also, too bad your 3DS broke. I didn't know there were golden days or anything for MK7.

For me, there were no golden days, at the time I got mk7...I had bad internet. So I lagged out so much.

Well if you need practice you could go up against me sometime (not sure if my memory of the courses is good anymore but I was good ). My kart combo isn't the most common either. I'm guessing you have the Golden Kart?

I really had a similar problem like yours only that I played on Kid Icarus : Uprising and met a player whom I would often see in my matches . The only difference is that alot of players still play Kid Icarus : Uprising so that makes my story differ from yours . Hope that someday you will find your friend Fox I find this story really really sad and Hope for the best for you . I know that kind of feeling when that happens and hopefully you might find him

I have earned a ton on online mode. I am beast at it, getting 1st place a lot. But blue shells are not good though, they make me go last place or 5th place. I agree with you, Mario kart 7 is addicting I tell you.

Yeah it his sad that the numbers of mario kart 7 players you use to see are decreasing but nre games are coming so you're gotta move to the groove.

Yeah, it's really sad now days that every time a 'better game or sequel to a game' comes out people just jump to the new one. MK7 in my opinion is better than MK8, probably because it was my first HD Mario Kart game. Now when I try find people to play with online, the chances of getting competitive players outside of Japan is pretty rare.
