Thinking of getting a 2DS

Now, don't get me wrong, the 3DS/3DS XL is amazing, and I play it almost every day, but ever since a couple months ago, my right hinge broke off, so the circuit board was showing. Luckily, my dad is very good with repairing computers and electronics, so he fixed it up with a piece of a pen, a thin black piece of plastic, and some very, very small screws. It's a bit hard to keep up since I can't hold the screens in place, but over than that, I can at least play it, and it's been holding pretty good for about 5 months.

Now, I would get a new 3DS XL, but i'm planning on getting a new phone, and even though the 3DS is a reasonable price, come on...
It's not that good anymore...

Anyways, my last resort is a 2DS, which its meant for kids (not really), and I never play 3D that much, so I might get that.

And the best part of it? NO STUPID BROKEN HINGES!

I've always had that problem with hinges breaking. That's how my last 2 DS'es broke! I'm sick of it!

What do you guys think about me getting a 2DS?
 
I bought a month ago a 2DS for the same reason, and it has been a great decision. Without headphones it has mono sound but even though the sound it's just great.
If you want to wait you can buy the New 3DS XL next year, and now buy the phone, BUT there will be hinges!
It's your decision but i recommend you the 2DS and the carry case (you'll need it)
 
I think a 2DS would suit you well, since you're not that bothered about 3D, and to prevent the hinges issue. Sorry to hear about your 3DS, that's rough. :sorry:

Go for it, it is the most comfortable portable console ever!!!
 
I've dropped my 2ds a few times and if I had a 3ds it would've died by now. I'd say go for it :D since you don't need the 3d and are lookin for a sturdy alternative. The hinges on the 3ds are quite annoying, I remember sister breaking her 3ds because she dropped it. Definitely go for it :D
 
well though the 2ds isnt really what i would recommend... well on your situation id totally agree to buy a 2ds . its practically the same thing but then its not so portable so buy a case
 
If that is your problem, buy a 2ds for sure. Also, if you want 3d, I have an awesome plan. Your dad is a mechanic, right? Get the top screen of your 3ds (with the 3d) unscrewed from the device. Then unscrew the top screen of your 2ds and put the 3d screen on it. Attach the wires and the 3d slider at the right place, and there you have it. A 3d 2ds!!! :):):)
