Now, being a Mystery Dungeon fan myself, I like Pokémon because of their personality more than their fighting capabilities, which made me realize how, when a Pokémon evolves, it kinda loses that character along the way. Not to say that it's not your friend anymore or anything, but its personality seems to change with each evolution, it kind of becomes more fighting oriented, instead of just a friend. What made me like Charmander, Bulbasaur and Pikachu was the fact that each of them had a character to them, and I kinda wish that the game didn't drive you to bond through fighting as much. It would be nice to have a game that also allows you to become friends with your Pokémon by experiences you go through together that aren't under your jurisdiction, e.g. while traveling the regions with your Pokémon to find your place in the world, let's say something horrible happens, and you help pull through the disaster with your Pokémon at your side. I'm not saying fighting with Pokémon is a bad thing, but it shouldn't be the only thing to do. The people in the Pokémon world who live beside Pokémon do more than just battle them, and although that is a really fun thing, it shouldn't be the only thing you do as a... well, I'd say Trainer, but training Pokémon to battle is kinda the focal point of being one, isn't it? My point being, to a person who lives in the world of Pokémon, battling is but one thing out of many things that you do with Pokémon. To only include one endeavor of Pokémon relationship with humans is almost a crime, don't you think? It would be very ambitious to create a game in which you can do more than train, but I think that the entire franchise and all of it's devotees and fans would be able to benefit from such a thing. Not only that, but it would make the players more likely to care about their Pokémon, and they would feel more attached to the game. The game would then have more impact on the players when they win or lose, and they would feel like it was a real achievement. They would be able to say, "Wow, we got through! It was tough, but we did it! We've gotten this far, and who knows what else the journey has in store?". The animal rights activists won't be telling Game Freak its morals are bad, either, because the game will be able to make you care more about your Pokémon, therefore humanizing them, making you feel bad if they get hurt, so the notion of "People don't care enough about their Pokémon to help them, except to battle" goes flying out the window. This is all my own opinion, but I'd like to hear what you'd like to say, even if it tears my thoughts apart into bloody little pieces. I want to know if what I'm saying has some truth in it or if what I said was bull, so, please comment
