Thoughts on the GTS and how they can improve it

What are your thoughts on the Pokemon GTS system in all of the games? I know it can be really annoying sometimes when you're looking for a simple pokemon you can't find in your Version, and most people want a Mew, or some unobtainable legendary just for that simple pokemon.

You'll always find a few people who's willing to give fair trades, but everytime I do "This pokemon has been traded already" T.T

Also, anyone have any ideas Gamefreak can improve the GTS? Maybe add a GTs just for shiny Pokemon trades, and maybe a hack checker?
 
I just really want to be able to check a Pokemon's summary page so I see their nature, stats, abilities and moves, I really don't understand why this hasn't been implemented yet.

They should make it so that if someone is asking for something impossible to obtain, such as a Lv. 1-10 Zekrom for example, that they are prevented from offering the Pokemon for that impossible trade. Other than that though, I have no complaints about the GTS. :thumbsup:
 
I agree with Lios, they should really add that feature. There are so many hoaxes on the GTS, people claim the Poemon to have X IV's X nature and they actually don't.
One more thing they need to improve is the ability to trade events.

This is probably the most important thing they'll need to implement. It's kinda hard trusting people who say so and so pokemon has these egg moves, or these certain ivs. Makes me not want to trade with people just because of trust issues. I gave away some good pokemon(Nothing really special) to get a hidden ability larvitar. Turns out it was a lie :/

Yeah, them lvl 1- 10 legendary pokemon are just trools imo. They totally know you can't get them without hacking, and most of the time the pokemon they're offering is hacked too. This is why we need summary.

What do you mean by trade events? Can't you already trade your event pokemon?
 
Okay what's really messed up is people asking for impossible pokemon. Like asking for a lvl 9 tallonflame. And then people asking for a freaking Celibe or darkrai or diance or really any other event pokemon that can't be traded. The GTS is freaking CLOGGED with these!

Nintendo needs to make it so you can't ask for these.
 
I agree with Lios, and Ali. I hate those little scammers who always say their Pokemon has X IVs, and other hoaxes. It's so annoying. If they allow us to see the summary page in a regular trade, why not in a GTS trade? This needs to be a feature in the GTS system.
 
Elf you have a point I mean, only had 1 time where the comment actually matched. A perfect IV, shiny newly hatched fletchling.

I mean, I was looking for an American Latios and the dang thing was french! It's really annoying when people lie like that!
 
To make it better I have to say is to put options on what you're looking for like separate them into categories for Shinies,pokemon you have now, pokemon you used to have, and pokemon you don't have. Also I wish they would add something to find the pokemon you want with the right item your want it to hold like a steel coat for onic so you can get a steelix. I wish they would also put another category for the pokemon they want isnt a legendary because now I've been seeing so many people want legendary pokemon so I want them to add it because I can't find the right pokemon I need to complete the national dex

some filters to look for shiny pokemon and good ivs would be awesome.

Also some helpful advice- If you want to remove seeing the impossible trades for 'special' or event pokemon that can't be traded, go down to the options button after you click on the 'Seek Pokemon' button. this will give you the option to include or not include those special pokemon. Im pretty sure it will still show legendaries that can be traded, but no more darkrais and that stuff

the GTS in xy is good but they could improve it. they could put a name box and you type the name of the pokemon and after you type the name there will be 3 options shiny,lv.100,or hacked. instead of searching for shiny pokemon through the line of pokemon you could just select shiny and the pokemon you want would be shiny. with lv.100 you would just select lv.100 and the pokemon you want would be lv.100. if you select hacked the pokemon you want would be hacked. if you choose shiny and lv.100 the pokemon you want would be shiny and lv.100. if you choose all 3 the pokemon you want would be hacked as a shiny level 100 pokemon with 6 perfect IV's.

It will also be nice if you deposit a pokemon, you can also ask for a specific ability, move, or item.

The good part about the GTS is it's convenient in case you want a certain Pokemon or one that needs to be sent via Pokebank and all you need to do is get whatever Pokemon it is that can be found in the region or friend safari so I found it useful when filling the dex. Also it was super easy to do it because all you need to do is know the Pokemon you are missing and spell it out in XY, so that's really helpful. The biggest problem is the most obvious, the absurd offers and impossible trades for Lv. 1 legendries like Mewtwo, Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, you get the point. I also wish the GTS had a IV checker to see if you aren't getting scammed as well as all the information on the Pokemon like Egg moves so you don't have to trust the person who says their Ditto is 6IVs and they want a Legendary for it. It still needs work but it can be useful. It would also be neat in the future to track where Pokemon with your OT are in the world (but make sure it's impossible to release rare Pokemon or otherwise unobtainable ones. If only.

I really think being able to view the summary of a Pokemon is a necessity. That way you can make sure if it has moves you may want of not. It would also be nice if you could ask for a Pokemon from a specific region, since to this day I haven't been able to find a Korean Pokemon on the GTS for the life of me.

The ability to search what people are asking for the Pokemon you're trading off would be a nice feature, if that makes any sense. All in all, I enjoy the GTS; it's fairly decent, and it's much better in XY than it was in 5th gen and below (can't comment on ORAS since I don't have those games, but I imagine it's the same as XY). Though I do agree that asking for impossible Pokemon needs to be fixed.

To be honest the player actually spoil the Gts because they ask for legandary pokemon for things like a Lavitar or a Aron.

A hack checker would be nice, just so we don't get any hacked pokemon. And the pokemon should be sorted into groups, and you should only be able to ask for pokemon in that group or below. That way we would avoid unfair trades

Well to me they should add like a few more things that say like shiny pokemon,legendaries,hacked,events.You know so that it would be more organized because trainers now a days want haunter for xerneas and so on.
