Where did you start, what gold did you find, and what's your advice?
Three simple yet hard to answer questions about your personal experiences with Anime and Manga. I wonder what kind of stories you'll all tell. no matter how long or short.
1:Where did I start?
It's actually pretty hard telling. I had an intrigue in the animated world on a whole considering how I was raised. If I had to guess, it's the appeal that entire planes of existence could actually fit on a piece of paper or a television screen.
As for anime exactly, I'm pretty sure all the pokemon and digimon in the world held my attention the best... for a little while...
Then I thought I outgrew the whole experience for a few years - as appealing as these colorful worlds are, I (foolishly) thought them to be childish. My brother Alex Summerdown, however, had his other styles. He was checking on things like Tri-Gun, Code Geass, endless movies from Hio Myasaki and other things...
My point is, He threw me back in, and my definitions of anime shifted.
2: What gold did I find?
I'm actually pretty proud of what I found in this genre. (When Alex offered I pick a new series to watch, that was like some kinda rite of passage or something.) I found such names as GunXGrave, Another, Cowboy Beebop, Ninja Soul, Death Note, Shi-ki...
3: What's my advice?
There's one anime series of every flavor. Don't be detered by the cutesy non-threatening big eyes and pretty colors. In my experience, things tend to get a hue darker if you look in the right places. Also, there's is some cussin' in the original subbed shows than in these various dubs.
