Hi! I recently, uh, acquired MK7, have any info and tips you could give me? Both in single player and online player.

Thanks :3 if anyone wants to challange me, my friend code is 4227 3815 3133. Though i don't think i'll be much of a challange xD

Just Repeat the Courses and learn their secrets / stratigies if you want to get really good. Don't go for Item boxes or boost pads unless you need them (eg: If you are first and REALLY far ahead, but the item box is out of your way, don't go for it), use your items wisely, figure out how to time the boosts when the match starts. And practise ;)

Okay, some basic advise; don't do as I do. Be careful while taking turns (I crash into the side a lot), if you accidentally spin make sure to orientate first (and not drive the entire map backwards) and mainly, try to not go of the course. I can't say I'm talented at Mario Kart. :-/ Then again, I rarely play the game so perhaps a lot of practice is the best advice. ;)

When playing on 150cc and Mirror mode if you see a Blue Shell on your bottom screen brake if you are 1st and make sure you're in 2nd.
In Battle Mode you can hold the brake (B) and accelerator buttons (A or Y) so you can turn tighter or camp by an item box and aim green shells better.
Drifting is the easiest thing in the world in this game so it's okay to hold the drift button (R) for longer turns and you usually move faster drifting than when not.

Check out this channel

It helped me a lot when I started to play MK8 (He has MK7 guides too, but I never watchem them)

Also, as a personal recomendation: Go always for either Max Speed or Max Acceleration

Acceleration and handling are key. (Trying so hard not to make a Jacksepticeye reference)

Alright, thanks everyone!

I actually found it easier going for acceleration, but I think I'll try going for speed sometime.

Also, a way to get a lead is that if you have a mushroom, use it somewhere where you see grass on the side of some tracks. That will become a shorter route for you and sort of a shortcut. Also if you get a mushroom, do not just spam it anywhere, especially on tracks like Rainbow Road, where there are a lot of turnings. In those stages, wait till there is a straight road and then use it. If you don't, you might end up falling off.

Falling off

In races, always try to take advantage of drifting and getting items and coins, these will really be helpful. Just be careful with the drifting since it's easy to fall off on certain stages (especially NES Rainbow Road -_-) And try finding a customized kart that suits your play style :3

I'm kinda picky with the kart appearance xD so i chose a full set of gold pieces and metal mario, it's kinda tough but i guess i'll suffer for fashion xD

If you are in Mario kart 7 and below do manual instead of Automatic. Manual makes you go faster and remember to drift. BUt in Mario Kart 8 there is no Automatic. Also when using a mushroom try to find a shortcut. Like use the mushroom in the off-road like sand or grass

Learn the maps and find a vehicle set up you like, I haven't played in a while and haven't even unlocked everything or learned much of the maps but i love trying to do it, Also if you have a blue shell chasing you try and brake and get into 2nd place so it hits 1st place and not you.
Do you wanna play sometime together? Been a while since we have and i just found my cartridge again so i'd love to challenge you to a race!

For me personally Time Trials are what made me good. That, and I played with some friends who were a lot better than me at the time. Find people better with you and play with them, watch how they play when racing.

The best kart combo is B-Dasher/Red Monster (or in some cases Slick)/Peach Parasol. Glider is kinda whatever but B Dasher with Red Monster wheels is def your friend for online.

Metal Mario is the heaviest character in the game, therefore he is the best. Slower acceleration but once you get going he fast af

also coins make you go faster not sure if you knew that

You definatly need to master mini turbos. To use them, just drift until you see colored sparks coming off your rear tires: blue is weak, red is strong, but both will increase your speed coming out of a turn. If you thing you have the time to get the red sparks, go for it unless the angle will shoot you off course.
