Hey everybody,
I've been wanting to do a Masuda hunt for a Litten or Rowlet, but it seems like this method would take a lot longer in Sun/Moon than it did in ORAS. Considering you can't use a Hatching O-Power Lvl 3 to speed up the process anymore, I just don't know if I would be willing to put in the amount of time that a Masuda hunt takes. If anybody could give me some tips on the most efficient way of Masuda breeding, I would greatly appreciate it :D

Flame body 'mon + Tauros (riding down through the route and enter the city, it has a long stretch).

There's a new mechanic you can use in Sun and Moon for shiny breeding called swap breeding. I'll link an article here for you to read, but I'll summarize it real fast.

Basically the idea is that you can predict when you will get your shiny hatch of whatever mon you want.

What you want to do is use your foreign ditto and have it breed with magikarp because magikarp is the fastest egg to hatch. Then once you get a shiny count how many hatches it took, reset, and replace the karp with the pokemon you want to breed for shiny, and you should get the shiny within the same number of hatches.

The link provides more specifications for the swap breeding process but I just gave a gist. Hope it helps!

Thanks a lot to both of you, I'll have to mess around with these and see how it works out :D

You know that little fenced off box in front of the Nursery? Get on Tauros and ride in circles in it. It's way more convenient than riding through the routes.

use this video as reference if you don't understand what I mean.

@Taiiny I just watched that video like 5 minutes ago, I'm definitely going to try that later
