I can give you some tips on characters.....
Mario-Down throw and super jump punch is an effective way to rack up damage also up tilting repetitively racks up damage, once you can't combo anymore it's you're Que to wrap it up with a smash attack.
Zero Suit Samus- Normal special deals low damage, but stuns enemies for a long time, well kind of short but ZSS is quick to react after paralyzing, you're side b and side smash to rap damage, also keep them in the air and air attack, up b is good too and you can finish up smashing.

Custom tips: Regeneration+Defense+Shulk' s Monado Arts = Incredible strategy.
Megaman's metal blade can be picked up and thrown like an item. Try eating it as Wario.
Pac-Man's Side B can be used as a recovery, leaving you less defenseless than you would be with his up B.
....Do a Barrel roll! XD

First... who do you main?

Evershield (Never shrinking shield) + Healing Shield is a neat little combo in case you are in danger and need to heal up. If you are using a very slow character with a short jump and is extremely heavy I recommend using offensive powers wisely in order to potentially get good speed and jump stat boosts as it only gets easier from there. Also try and defeat as many enemies as possible and memorize their patterns. Take out the flying enemies first if you can as they can be the most distracting and they can hit other larger opponents too making it easier on yourself strategize with this). Less offensive characters might need melee weapons like the beam sword or Home Run Bat to help them beat enemies. Find as many treasures and doors to go through as possible in order to help you progress easier as you have a limited time to do this. If you are going in a hard challenge door it is recommended you use a power. Especially for crystal smash and if you have offensive boosting powers, not necessarily items unless it deals a lot of damage like a hammer or Home Run Bat. Make up for your weaknesses or at least try to.

OK, for Dr. Mario, his down+Special, The Dr. Tornado, can be used to go left or right really quickly, and you can press the Special button repeatedly to go up off the ground as well. Dr. Mario is slower than the regular Mario, but, Dr. Mario is more powerful. Try using the timer item with one of his Smash Attacks!

For Little Mac: DO NOT use his side+special near an edge!

For Fox: Keep using his side+special near a large group of enemies.

I hope I helped you out!

Kirby:Sometimes the best offense is defense.
MegaMan:Stay at a distance and charge up that mega buster. Combine with Crash Bomb for a nice combo.
Rob:That Side Special Tho.
Lucario:Get high damage on purpose. No, I'm not joking. His aura has been a great asset to me and can turn the tide of a battle in an instant.
