So I figured with a year coming to an end and all major releases being now behind us it'd be fun to go through our favorite games that released this year. As in, don't just say games you played this year but came out like 5 years ago. This includes ports to a new console (eg. you can't put Super Meat Boy as one of the games despite releasing on PS4 and Vita this year, it's like 10 years old).
Mine (in order from worst to best):

10. - Pokemon: Super Mystery Dungeon / YoKai Watch

I feel like both of these games are on about the same scale in how fun they are. I'm kind of cheating by putting both here, but I couldn't really choose one or the other. I haven't beaten either of them yet but I've put a respectable amount into them both, and I've enjoyed them both quite a bit. YoKai Watch is something I wasn't even planning on getting but I decided to try it on a whim and found out it's a lot more fun than the demo led me to believe. Shame to hear it's not selling that well in the west. Super Mystery Dungeon isn't as good as Gates to Infinity (SO FAR, I HAVEN'T BEATEN IT SO THAT COULD CHANGE.) but it's still good fun.

9. - Life is Strange

Another game I didn't expect to try out, Life is Strange. It's basically about this college girl who discovers she can rewind time. There's not much too the game itself as it's an episodic story kind of game, but I thought it was pretty good. Ending was disappointing but the story as a whole was exciting to see play out.

8. - Until Dawn

This is the last story driven game on the list but I reaaaallly liked it. It literally came out of nowhere, nobody was expecting it to be that good but the reception for it has been fairly positive. Basically a group of teens go up to a ski lodge to celebrate the lives of their two friends who died there a year ago and then spooky scary stuff happens.

7. - Dragon Ball Xenoverse

I haven't been playing the Dragon Ball games at all since Burst Limit disappointed me, but Xenoverse was certainly a pleasant surprise. My excitement for the franchise was as high as it had ever been around the time this came out because of the new movie and then later the new series (which is garbage btw, stopped watching it back in September ayeee) so I caved and bought it. I don't typically like fighting games but this one just felt really smooth and the story was actually something different than the Dragon Ball canon. Also you can create your own character which is pretty nice.

6. Star Wars: Battlefront

When the Battlefront beta happened in early October I fell in love with it. You don't even need to be good at it to appreciate this game. From the amazing graphics to the phenomenal sound design (seriously, DICE is goat when it comes to sound design) to the overall flow of the game I really like Battlefront. It's funny considering I'm not even that big of a Star Wars fan, but it did make me go back and watch the original trilogy. People are saying it lacks content but I have like 20 hours in it and I've barely scratched the surface. Not sure if I'll buy the season pass, though (I probably will, let's be honest).

5. - The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

I wasn't excited for Tri Force Heroes in the slightest but I had a ton of fun with it, going through each stage multiple times to get materials and finish challenges is super rewarding. It doesn't really need to be a Zelda game (it should have been a new IP, but I understand they probably knew it wouldn't have sold nearly as well had it been something new) but still, super fun. Definitely going to complete it eventually. Still need to try out Den of Trials.

4. - Splatoon

Splatoon was easily the most excited I had been for a game in a while and unlike Mario Kart 8, it didn't disappoint me (entirely). I played the heck out of it during it's first month of being available. I just feel like the lack of challenges really made me not interested in going back to it, but when I did play it actively I had an absolute blast.

3. - Super Mario Maker

Super Mario Maker is another game I really wasn't excited for (I was definitely interested in it, but I wasn't losing sleep over it) but playing user created levels is amazing. It's a shame Nintendo is so strict when it comes to YouTube because this could have been absolutely huge for them, more so than it already is. They made a fantastic tool for creating levels. Just wish I could add slopes ;/

2. - Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Obviously Call of Duty is one of my favorite franchises (can't get enough of the MP, it's basically all I've been playing the past month) but Ghosts and - to a lesser extent - Advanced Warfare disappointed me. I didn't get the urge to go for challenges or camos but with Black Ops 3 that urge came back. I've put more time into it than any other game this year already and I know I'll be putting hundreds of more hours into it over the course of 2016. Only complaint I have with it is that Nuk3town basically makes me not want to play any other map in the game.

1. - Bloodborne

I enjoyed Bloodborne way, way more than I thought I would. Part of me thinks I really love this game because it's one of the first games with a dark atmosphere that I really got into, but the other part of me thinks the game is simply a master piece. Difficulty is a common complaint in games these days but for me Bloodborne felt just right; not too hard (except the occasional time it was too hard, aha) but certainly not too easy. World design is also absolutely stunning in this game.

Well that took way longer than it should have. Obviously you don't need to post reasons for why your list is the way it is, I just got carried away. Back to playing Black Ops 3.

welp i messed up my bbcode and don't have the privilege of editing my post. @VoluXian if you could perhaps fix that thanks aha

What about Halo 5? Fallout 4? Witcher 3? This list is crappy, no offense. I'm pretty sure you're biased too since there are only PS4 exclusives in there.

This is just my personal list, I don't have an Xbox One so I can't speak on Halo 5 and I haven't really started Fallout yet so I can't talk about it much either. Witcher 3 I started and flat out didn't like but I understand why people love it and that it deserves GOTY from The Game Awards. What do you mean only PS4 exclusives? Plenty of Nintendo games there.

Apart from Nintendo, you only included PS4. I don't think that many Nintendo games even deserve to be included in "Top 2015 games list" at all. However, since you mentioned that this is your personal opinion then you can put in any game you want. It's your list after all.

Well, yeah, of course it's mostly going to be PlayStation 4 (only two PS4 exclusives, btw) when I pretty much only play on PS4, Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo had a really bad year, whereas with multiplat titles I enjoyed them more than usual. Why ya so defensive lmao

I'm not defensive but games like Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, and many more out there, it's just ridiculous to see so many mediocre Nintendo games in the list. The title is misleading.

As long as the list has at least two games among Life Is Strange, Splatoon and MH4U, I'm ok with it. I can't really agree or disagree with games I don't know.

It's a personal list, and of course someone's list doesn't have to be your list.

Why don't you share with us your own list? I find this topic quite interesting. I didn't like Witcher 3 that much either. didn't play a lot, but it felt like it was... too much? Not sure if I make sense here.

I might give a chance to Battlefront. I was under the impression that since I'm already playing BO3 a lot, maybe I could pass on Battlefront?

Any game that I enjoy playing is a good game but I can't just go around putting every game I like under "Top 2015 games" list. I have played Tachyon Project (an Indie game) a lot in the past few weeks and enjoyed it but it doesn't deserve to be in a |Top 2015 games list".
I know it's a personal list, and I'm fine with it. @Nanamine can add any game He prefers. I'm just saying that The Witcher 3 is one of the best games of 2015. I don't own it, but I have played it on a friend's PS4 and its' definitely one of the best. I'm not sure If Battlefront even deserves to be in any list. It's only hyped-up because of Star Wars fan. As a FPS, I don't think it's in the same league as Battlefield or even CoD. I'd say Titanfall was much more enjoyable but it died too quickly.

I don't even like Star Wars that much. I only bought Battlefront so I could play it with my brother and for the rare times I'd rather play it instead of Black Ops 3. Shooter games don't need to have depth to be good (although it doesn't hurt anything if they do have depth), they just need to be fun. Battlefront is fun.

@SunnyWindy to answer your question, if you're actively enjoying Black Ops 3 I don't see any real need to get Battlefront. It's certainly a slower paced game and you have a ton of health; as of now I've just been playing survival with a friend and Heroes vs Villains because being Luke is fun. Super fun. More or less a game I play once a week whereas with Black Ops 3 I play almost every day.

Thanks for your input, I'll stick to BO3. I play almost daily like you so probably better to not try another FPS at the same time if I'm already invested in BO3.

I got one question for you:

Where's Undertale? :p

I'll only ever play it if it comes to consoles, and I believe they said they wouldn't do that. So, I'll never play it. Frankly the only reason it even interests me is because it's been the talk of the internet since like September

Even without the internet attention, it's a phenomenal game. It almost has an Earthbound feel to it, if you're into that kind of style.
