I'm writing something exciting, but I need a tough sounding name, for a strange female character...By "tough" I mean, rarely used girl names: Helga, is one of the few names I can think of... Would you list a few unused/rare names?

Possibly Robin, maybe Heather. A lot of names could work, it just takes a bit of searching. I personally use www.behindthename.com and I click through until I find a name I like. But that's just me. If this doesn't help you, oh well, someone else probably can. Good Luck!

There are asexual names that work on both man and woman.
I know Devan is one of them - many ways to spell this one: Devin, Devyn, Devon, Deven, Devann.
Also, a name like Amber sounds tough to me - names that reference an element or city just sound tough to me for some reason.

Awesome!!! I look at that site too! But I usually find "girly" sounding names like: Zara. It's not used alot,
but if you I heard it, I'll know someone was refering to a girl easily!

I didn't know Devan was a girl name, (Ironically I DO have a character in the story named: Amber... Who is
freakishly strong for her small size!)

@oshul I heard of alot of females named Reese, I need something more rough/manly sounding
Devan was a huge surprise to me... I need something really "GRRRRRRR :punch: " sounding!

Need a Grrrrr-rl name huh?
Off the top of my head are names like Andrea, Frances, Mara, or Donna, but really those names are decidedly tough-sounding. Really, it's the person that makes the name sound tough. (Like Rick's old nickname in TWD was "Officer Friendly". }] I thought that was awesomely tough.)

I know Mara is a tough name: If I remember right, it means bitter
And was used as a demon's name if I remember that Hindu story...

Andrea DOES sound kinda tough too...

The names Devan, Mara or Andrea is going to a girl (who's look I just completed) who'll
have creepy silver eyes and long shaggy blonde hair!

Maybe, Ballora?Baby?

Maybe, Ballora?Baby?
Never heard of Ballora! But isn't Baby a nickname?
Thanks anyway though: I'm going to actually look the names up now, I have to find the
one less used for girls... It needs to be very deceiving, there should be no way
one will know at the mentioned of the name, they're referring to a girl.

@Kakea I have no idea what to tell you about girl names, but what is your story about? It sounds cool

It takes place in the future, after the government we use now almost destroyed earth: a new "system" was made
the Hero Association. The story follows a certain hero team, and their adventures https://www.wattpad.com/myworks

The character I mentioned in here, is a character in the sequel... I didn't get a chance to add her yet.
If you do read it: please forgive my writing, and any typos... I tried to fix everything I found!
