Trading Canada eShop Code for North American

Yeah,
I swaped a game with a dude for a $20 eShop code, and the guy messaged me a Canada only code. It looks like it works, but it doesn't let me use it.
So, anyone from Canada who can please switch with me? Or from the US who can help me out here?
I'm in a tough spot :/

Ah. I'm also in the same situation as you, I have set my 3DS region to avoid taxes (45.12 $ for a 39.99 $ game? really?)
I cannot buy any cards here as they only work for the Canadian eShop.
Screw region lock, and good luck.

I actually just solved the problem. I told the dude what was up, and he offered to buy me a code online instead, (PCGamesupply, or something like that), and it worked!
I was relieved haha

Thanks! I actually did luck out big! I mean, it's not 100% safe to trade, sell, and buy things online, but this dude was really nice, and comprehensive, and helped out

Yes, but you cannot use a Canadian code in USA or Vice Versa.
