Tranasuars Rex & Deviljho, Are they somehow related?

I always thought that these two might be related, either by time, or they come from different planets. What do you all think?

100% related. The T-rex is only stage 1 of the Deviljho. After a T-rex reaches adulthood, it goes on a hunt to kill and eat 27 times its own weight in a year. Most don't reach 15 times per year, so they start from scratch every year or die of old age. But for the few that succeed, they reach stage 2. In this stage, they slip into a hibernation-like state that can last for years. Their bodies start to reform and convert its blood into raw energy. When it finally awakes, it is a fully formed Deviljho.
