Hi everybody,

Now that the game's out since a small while in the NA, and two days here, I was wondering, since I'm finally getting the digital version of the game:

To transfer Pokémons from my copy of Pokémon X, do I need to use PokéBank (I hope it's not the case), or, is there some way to transfer them that isn't fastidious (trades to somebody with OR/AS, the get them back) or annoying to do ?

Because I'm not really a fan of the PokéBank (I would have preferred a free single box, but nope! + it causes a lot of trouble where I live (never-ending connection, lots of errors)), and I'll need to free the cartridge slot of my 3DS for Persona Q I'll get later...

Any answer is welcome !
(Nobody will know that I'm going with AS as long as they don't quote me)

I believe the only easy way is through PokeBank. Otherwise you got to do it one by one where you trade one pokemon to a friend with XY/ORAS and then that person trades that single pokemon to your ORAS. It's a pretty labourious process that way...

Well, seems like I'm screwed then. Paying €5 to transfer data (and not to keep it in their cloud-based thing) is still a scam to me though :(.

It is a scam, I agree. Nintendo is evilly clever

I agree, they should at least offer a free version of the PokeBank service, like 1 box only. I purchased PokeBank so I could transfer my Pokes from Y. Unfortunately, Mega Stones don't go through Poke Bank.

Yep, that's a pain. The worst is that I'm actually afraid to lose my legendaries, or other Pokémons that I want to import. :nailbiting:
Still, no bonus coming with the game that could help transferring is just an evil move. Not from Nintendo (though they could have helped), but from GF. I just don't feel like throwing money at them just to get a bunch of 0s and 1s transferred to ORAS.

If you want to trade mega stones, you'll have to either trade with a friend or use the GTS.

I think that you could use two 3ds's and transfer pokemon through trading . You should proberbly leave your mega stones behind in Pokemon X as you get all the mega stones back.

you can find all mega stones in OR and AS anyway so I wouldn't worry about that to much

But the problem is, I don't have the money for a second 3DS or a 2DS. Also if I have no choice when it comes to Mega Stones, then, I guess I'll just go ahead, and use the GTS to transfer, and hope that some generous person won't "troll" me :p (Yes, that already happened. Somebody traded their Charizard for my Magikarp while I was transferring :hilarious:)

Learn from your mistake (as I did from mine, which was exactly the same). Don't offer Charizard (for example) for a Magikarp. Instead, offer Magikarp from your ORAS game for a Charizard (and specify gender and level). Nobody in their right mind would want to give away their Charizard for a Magikarp. And if they do, well hey, you just scored a Charizard! :D

I feel a little responsible for your loss, since I suggested to you (at least I think it was you) to use this method in another thread. PM me and I'll trade you a Charmander to replace it, if you'd like? (Hope there's no forum rule infringement there!)

Hey, that's what happened ! I traded my AS's Magikarp for someone else's Charizard !

Haha sorry I didn't read your post properly (I skim read too much). Well at least it happened that way and not the other way around! Whew!

Oh well, at least the guide is there for other users now. :D

You don't need pokebank to transfer data from x to oras. Sometimes I use the GTS. So in X deposit a pokemon for example a mawile, and for the pokemon you want put a worthless pokemon you have in ORAS. But you have to do this quickly in case someone takes your pokemon. You might wanna do this late night or early in the morning. So in Omega or alpha go to the GTS and trade away! There you have it, a easy and free way to transfer pokemon!!:);):D:p

I guess you should use Pokemon bank. If you don't want to pay for your pass, then go to your friends for a 3ds or use another 3ds if you have. Then just trade with peace. However I recommend Pokebank. It is the easest and fastest method
