I have an obsession with Tesla >.<

I have an Inspiron 17 5000 I think (Either 3000 or 5000), and I'm trying to save it

What I need currently is a new battery, and on Dell.com that costs $120 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...apd/453-bbbr/pc-accessories#techspecs_section), and a charger costs $50 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...-65-ft-power-cord/apd/492-bbof/pc-accessories).

So, basically, it's going to cost so much money to try and replace the parts (plus my right arrow key is out of place, but it's not a big deal) and I don't want to spend all that money. Does anybody have some alternatives or anything that I can do?

I don't want to get rid of this amazing machine, but I don't want to spend a million bucks on it either. (BTW, I have Ubuntu installed on it if you are curious)

You can just leave it plugged in, unless issues still persist (I'm not a computer expert).

A new battery is only £20 on eBay yo

I don't really know. My laptop screen broke once and I had to replace it, I also bought a replacement charger because my charger was also being faulty. The screen and the charger both costed a lot of money. If I was in this situation, I would likely just get the parts replaced :sorry:

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm in the US, and that doesn't ship to the US

That's what I was thinking of doing, get the charger first, then later get the battery (that actually worked for a while, but the problem is that the charger broke)

I had a Dell laptop that needed a new battery and charger a few years ago. And a universal charger was going to be like $120 from best buy - but ebay had the dell parts I needed and it all came to like $50 after I searched around. You don't see the battery and charger you need on there? This was a few years back so I'm not sure if it is still available like it was then.

I did so much for that laptop lol. It was how I played all my Silent Hill games at the time - which I just could not let go. I did manage to change out the cable for the lcd screen which had a lot of dead pixels so I was proud of myself for that. :cat:
