I think Luigi's Mansion is really underated game, it is a vast mansion you can explore, complete missions and suck up ghost. Super Peach for the DS is kind of unknown in my eyes, I didn't even really hear of it until about a year ago, same thing with Yoshi Touch and Go, I haven't heard of it since this month. Mario Hoops 3 on 3 is a game I've only heard of for a while, but excited to play it. I actually find Mario Kart Super Circuit kind of underated, It was the first portable Mario Kart Game, and was a graphical update of the Super Nintendo Version, what Mario games do you think are underated or forgotten?

  • Super Mario Sunshine (GCN): It's really fun and I really like F.L.U.D.D. and its mechanics. The tropical setting is unique and I like that. It needs a 3DS or Wii U remake.
  • Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS): I think people are looking to far into its similarity to other games in the series and are not accepting it for what it is. My only problem with it is that it's a little on the short side.
  • Mario Paint (SNES): It's not really a game, but it makes a painting and music composing game the most fun it could ever be.
  • Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC): Probably the definitive version of Super Mario Bros. It includes not only the original, but Lost Levels, a challenge mode, and a fun racing mode! It even has some bonuses like tarot cards and a calendar! It came out for 3DS VC in Europe a while ago, I hope it comes to North America soon.

Mario's Time Machine, and Mario's Missing was some fun games. I am sure not a lot of people on here know about those games.

I haven't even heard of Super Mario Bros Deluxe until you told me

Don't agree with Mario sunshine, because its accepted as one of the best Mario games ever. Agree with the other ones though.

Mario Is Missing from SNES. That game had me looking around for hours. I wouldn't think most people have played that one, so I think it rightfully is underrated and forgotten.

I think Super Paper Mario is the most underrated Mario game. It is COMPLETELY living in the shadow of the more popular, Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door. I this SPM is one of the best mario games, and one of the best Wii games in general. It has a fantastic story with tons of great characters and the dimension flipping mechanic is implemented very well in my opinion. I love it.

Another underrated game is Super Mario Bros 2. The american one where you pic up the vegetables. People hate it for no reason. But I really like it, I think it is a lot of fun. Plus it was the first Mario game where you could play as other characters with different powers. Making every playthrough different if ou choose a different character.

  • Super Mario Sunshine (GCN):
  • super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC):

I'd say Super Circuit. In MK 7 and 8 we got generic courses. I think they should remake unique courses (like Ribbon Road or Cheese Land). Though, I'm sure they'll remake Rainbow Road (just because of a pattern)

Yes those are some pretty low rated games. the GBC SMBDX is definitely for hardcore fans since the challenges in it are legendary. Heck if you get a high enough score in the original game you get to play Lost Levels which is notorious for being the hardest Mario game ever. Sunshine gets second place for being hard in the sense it is hard to find out the trick to beating levels or executing different jumps and things so it is good in a 3D platformer sense but the no FLUDD levels and last level in the volcano are killers that force you to know your skills fast. At least the hub world is a great place to practice and find Shine Sprites. Mario Paint is just older and although it seems gimmicky it can get the creative juices flowing with music and art with the same quality Paint on Windows has just with stamps. Sticker Star wasn't good because it was restricting. Sure I could see it being decent but it just cannot live up to TTYD so in that sense if it weren't for TTYD then SS would be considered a godsend. There should be a TTYD type game for the Wii U.

Also the games you say are low rated is because they are either gimmicky, too strange, or obscure. The New series is pretty low in ratings because the music is unoriginal however in a blog I read that was their point for being lazy and honestly I don't like recycled music either.

I think the GB series gets low ratings because it is obscure or not in color or higher quality than the rest. If you lose you start over again (seems fair enough). The levels in SML2 were creative like a Mario statue, the belly of a Koopa and Whale, a tree level, heck it even has a space level (and inside jokes about Mario having balls in the statue area hehe). This was truly the inspiration for SMG since it was so creative with the limitations already on the GB. Even the original SML had creative yet short levels. Even online these games seem underrated but I like them for that. They even had Tatanga and Wario in them as New characters and heck without the series there would be no Daisy or awesome SML music like 1-3

There's still hope for them being in Mario Kart 8's second DLC pack...

Also, I just found out Sticker Star was a hit in Japan.

I think Mario kart ds is underrated, because it is literaly a just as good Mario party game as the other ones on console, but it is on the ds, so you can play it on the og. I also like the multiplayer, and me, my sister and my Brother had lots of fun With that game. That being said, I havent played EVERY Mario party.

MKDS is probably far from underrated. It is just notorious for the ability of Snaking (drive behind person in front until very end to win). I liked it for the bit of it I played. The Boss mode idea was neat and I wish it came back, or even an adventure mode).

I think it is those Mario Gameboy games that are under rated now,i loved playing them when I was a child and I think I would still liked to play it now .The Gameboy games were more harder and bigger adventures and more fun.

I kind of dissagree with that luigi's mansion is an underated game. I remember I saw the commercials for the game and the nintendo gamecube and some years later was still the game I just wanted to play on the console. I mean, that game was the reason why (a couple of years later) I finally bought the console and the game. On the other hand, I am uncertain of having heard about the other games you mentioned.

I feel that Mario Golf: World Tour is an underrated game. Even though it was only released back in May, I feel like people never talk about it anymore, and the game has so much to offer. It had great courses, a bunch of good DLC, and online multiplayer. You can also participate in a wide number of tournaments for prizes. I feel like it deserves more attention.
