Unfair advantage?

When you're in a battle, it lets you know which pokemon the trainer or gym leader is gonna use next. You can easily choose a pokemon which will be super effective against the opponent. This makes the battle easy to win, unless your pokemon's levels are somewhat lower than theirs. :p

Do you think randomizing pokemon/not knowing what pokemon the trainer will throw out next make the battles much more fun and prove more of a challenge? :D

The first pokemon they use isn't revealed of course. So, I guess this would even things out a little a bit. Not by much though. :p

The only case this happens is in regular "story" battles. That's why you aren't asked to switch when playing against other players, in the Battle Maison or Battle Test. That option is there t make the game easier and there is also an option to change whether you are allowed to switch or not for regular battles (battle setting: from Shift to Set). All games so far had ridiculously easy battles with the exception of Steven in Emerald! However, do you really want to make it harder? Can it even become harder? Now that it's easy like this, you can play the game, beat it real quick and then focus on exploring, if you haven't already, and competitive battling or breeding. It was nice though that there was the challenge mode back in Black2 / White2, which should have been left as an option in Gen 6. Anyways, no matter how you do it, for some weird reason, the games keep getting easier, so much actually, that they aren't as fun anymore! In Ruby, I barely beat Steven the first time with just 1 Pokemon remaining, while in Omega Ruby I beat him with just my Sceptile, without any potions to boot! I don't even want to talk about the Kalos Elite 4! They are the Elite 4 because there are four of them, not because they should have just four Pokemon each! Finally, to answer your question, instead of dong only what you said (keeping the Pokemon a secret until it's out), they should also raise the levels a great deal! It's annoying how you are at a constant +20 in levels even compared to the Gym Leaders from the 3rd Gym and on!

There's actually an option in the settings to turn that off so you don't know what they're sending next. I've never tried it myself, but I know the option's there.

I'm not really picky about knowing what they're going to send next. I think it helps me out a bit with the battle, but I don't usually take advantage of it.

It still shows what will come out, but it just doesn't let you switch.

Exactly putting the options on set makes it like a competitive online battle. It is still just as easy. It's not really an unfair advantage because a beginner will struggle on set. However , in terms of a nuzlocke or something like that yes.

There is a reason why they have made this option. They needed to make Pokemon a game suitable for all. Some people like to see what comes out next to be prepared. If you don't want that, you can always change it to "Set" mode.

Also, this only happens in "in-game" battles. In multiplayer battles, it doesn't happen.

Just go to options and change the battle option from "Switch" to "Set." That way even in the story your Pokémon would stay in when your opponent sends in their next one. I use this and turn off battle animations when I'm trying to grind for levels, which saves a lot of time in the long run. I also use this option when I'm doing nuzlockes to make things a little bit more challenging for me. :rotfl:

In general, of course it'll give you an advantage :p
Knowing what your opponent will sent out next makes a lot of things easier, specifically to those first playing the game. At first I remember that I never knew there was an option for this, but it seems I've never changed it to "Set" as far as I know xD

Naturally you can't know what your opponent is gonna send out in multi-player battles because it wouldn't make sense; if you think about it :p

For sure it give us unfair advantage

But by going in settings we can change the battle mode but i think it don't will effect battle much as our pokemon are having way to higher level than theres

Randomizing online battles would mess up the order the player wanted there pokes. Also turning off the switch between death option is a way to make it more fair
