Universal Link Cable

I dont know if this thread really fits here,but anyways
What is a good Universal Link Cable for gba sp?
The cable should also work if the gba sp is connected with a gbc or original gb
I tried to connect pkmn yellow and red with my link cable,but that didnt work(2 gba sps)

I am not sure if this would work because they are both Game boy games, but there is the wireless trade add on for GBA that works with most GBA multiplayer/trading games, and it may work with the GB games as well.
