Unwinnable matchups for Marth

These are 3 characters (in my experience playing marth ever since smash 4 came out) that can basically destroy Marth when played at high levels

1. Captain Falcon
Captain Falcon combos Marth so badly as he can down throw knee at certain percents, and do down throw up airs. Due to Marth's nerf he can no longer space captain falcon more efficiently as Marth's f-air is short so captain falcon can easily rush marth. Though marth has side b but if the falcon player is smart hitting, them with that won't be easy.

2. Zero suit samus
Due to zero suit's speed and her blaster she can easily take advantage of Marth's disadvantages such as his usual lack of projectile and his now nerfed range of his f-air and f-smash. Marth's weight makes him super easy to be up air up aired to up b.

3. Sonic
If the sonic player doesn't always charge with side b the whole time he can pretty much always dominate marth in any aspect besides range but as long as the sonic player is always pressuring the Marth's shield he basically wins (unless the marth gets a bunch of random tipper f-smashs)

Thanks for reading! I hope someday marth can become top tier but that's probably not going to happen :( If you think there's any other characters you think are almost unwinnable for marth(no hate to marth at all, I always want to play marth)feel free to say it. Settle it in Smash!

Marth in ssb4 is the first time that he really doesn't have combos that he used to. Not even his grabs can combo well, mostly air dodgeable. However he is a pretty solid character and his tip of he's sword is helpful, but unhelpful for combos. He is pretty much top tier. I believe that a high level Marth can destroy those characters too. Marth tip sword thing can kill early in the game. Try using ur sword to keep distance away from your opponent.

True, though he's a character you have to play perfectly in ssb4 in order to get good results from him

Marth just requires more skill to play than other characters. Oh his hop side a can trip charcters.

Marth DOES require a require a much larger execution skill than other characters due to his tipper being a mechanic hat either make or breaks him. The length of his attacks have been drastically nerfed going into Smash 4 so he's more often then not being forced to go into unsavory situations because he just doesn't have the correct reach/spacing anymore.

Spacing is key to Marth's play; most spacing characters have to keep their opponent within range; in his case, of the tipper.
Because of this, characters that can create projectile walls are gonna give him a hard time finding an in and speedy characters just run laps around him with an evil grin.

Marth is not impossible to play, this is coming from someone who's played him from Brawl and Project into this game; but this time around he DOES require a much more patient player to really shine.

Marth got slightly buff by the way decreasing lag on so kill moves I think.Read it somewhere on the smashboard yesterday.

Well those are some pretty already OP characters that you listed there :p They destroy almost anything :dead: Marth does have his own mechanics to use as advantage like the tip of his sword so landing something like that can be quite hard for the more mobile characters like Sonic , he is pretty solid as well .

Marth is still a nice character to use but not as nice as he was in previous games. But Marth's throws can be used to keep distance from your opponent, which is needed. His down throw can combo into his uair juggles. Even though his hitboxes were need doesn't mean he can't land his tippers.

Guys you forgot Sheik! Sheik can just juggle and juggle all day long. Sheik is way to fast for marth and I think its just unwinnable for Marth. Sheik can destroy any character except Olimar because sheik has some weaknessess

Marth is a strong character but he is just like Capt. Falcon in Smash 4. He was great but now he is middle tier and relies on tippers and good punishes. A lot of characters give Marth an unwinnable matchup but I think Lucas and Ness are good counters to Marth. And because Marth lacks a kill throw he has trouble catching up.
