Yeah, a new update. It lets you choose between eight home menu layouts, which is kinda cool. It can have different theme and icon arrangements. Oh, and amiibo settings have been added for older 3DSes, but they'll need an NFC device which will come out this year.

amiibo Settings has been added to HOME Menu Settings. amiibo Settings allows users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, or reset an amiibo*
Full regalia here. What do you guys think? I think the home menu layout option is interesting.

*Laughs* Still no Region-Free ? I thought I could dream for a second...
Plus, I'm laughing if this update isn't required to use the amiibo-adapter thing that'll require to cash us more money to use something that should have been integrated into the original console and not only in the 1.5 3DS.

So, since I don't really care about the menu's layout, don't count on me to update my console. It's not as if I had taken the habit of saying no every time my 3DS harasses/begs me to update it... :rotfl:

Now that I think about it: Is it stable  ? *STABILITY INTENSIFIES*

That is really cool :p I better go update because I never really touched my 3ds in quite a long time so far . I wonder if all this stability thing will do and actually show an increase because seriously my 3ds doesn't handle well as it used to be >.<
I really like updating my console :D unless my internet is really weird. ...

Can't wait to try these new features :3

The new feature is useless outside Japan. (I don't know if you heard about the awesome Collectible Badge Center)

Lolnope. When a sentence contains the word "stability" in a changelog by Nintendo, it only means they tried things against piracy. And as usual, the most piracy-oriented tool still isn't blocked by the new update, while some less harmful (but still harmful, I give you that) tools are blocked.

How do you guys think that the Amiibo peripheral will work? Circle Pad Pro-esque?

What's this ?
It is a free-to-play game from Nintendo that allow you to win pins, and you can use them to decorate your console, your folders and win home themes. It's an awesome game, but Japan only.

Oh, that looks nice. Shame that it's Japan-only, :( like 60% of the great games that'll never come here or in NA

Well it costs real money after a couple of free tries. You can try to get stuff for free but it's a bit Pokémon Shuffle-esque.

Nope, it uses wireless, like this:

And then you place your Amiibo on that white thing. (Google powers :p)

Oh god no. I knew we could expect something of the sort, but Pokémon Shuffle-esque thingy ? I'm definitely going to stay away from this thing. They won't have my money like this :bag:

It's worse, PS allows you plenty of plays, this thing absolutely doesn't. But I don't think it'll ever hit the Eu and NA regions anyway.

I find it really annoying that they added the amiibo settings for the older 3ds models. It made me think that they were releasing the adapter soon but when I heard it wasn't coming out until the fall it made me sad. I also see no point in putting it in if we won't be able to use it for several more months. Why couldn't they wait until it was closer to the release date. The only reason I could think of is that they won't have any more system updates until after that point but going 6 months without one seems really unlikely.

I agree with PIEDONUTS5 because it really is agreat pity that the amiigo function doesn't work and when I tried to test it out the amiibo made my 3ds screen go black, but the home menu layout has given the menu a sense of fun but it's a pity that you have to pay for particular custom themes and they should get rid of having to pay for themes because people don't have money to add e shop credit because the home menu should be customisable without having to pay for anything, but they should keep the system updates coming because I don't like the way they just stopped giving the nintendo dsi updates which disappointed me because I have had it since 2008 and it is still working to this day but, they should really consider bringing back updates for the dsi because they kind of abandoned it in favour of a newer handheld console
