well, like many of you probably have felt, there are a number of moves out there that are pretty useless in the long run. if nintendo were to ever kick any moves at all from the series forever, which would you like to see go first? my answer here is easy, i will list my choices below.

#1: Splash yes, by far a completely useless move. it never has any effect at all; literally does absolutely nothing everytime, everywhere. id say this move is just a filler, basically a waste of a move slot, and of course, a waste of a turn. you know, i often ask myself the following exact question: how is this even a legitimate move when its completely useless? and why does this move even exist? wtf, nintendo. i know you guys well enough that you couldve come up with something better than this. no, anything better than this--correction. :panda:

#2: sonicboom: there is nothing that makes this move very useful at all, especially when you advance even just beyond the first gym in most games. it has a fixed damage of 20, and that number never changes with level. not going to help for very long at all, as you can see. :panda:

#3: dragon rage: another move like sonicboom, only the fixed damage is 40 instead of 20. similar issues with this move as listed for the previous move. only on a slightly grander scale, not by much though. :panda:

I definately agree with you on Splash, it has no purpose whatsoever, it was originally called hop that's why it is a normal type move instead of water. However taking away that move would in a way take away the challenge of training a magicarp to evolve, which I kinda enjoy but that is just me.

Understandable, but i quickly learned an easy solution to training a low lvl magikarp like that with only splash as an available move is to either use exp share, or right before any battle, send it out first and then immediately withdraw it and switch out something that has attack potential. So....its still easy to avoid having your magikarp killed while trying to train it into a monstrous gyarados by doing these things. Or, with newer gens like pkmn x and y, you can do what i do to quickly train anything: just do rotation battles with a strong Pokemon up front (the attack aka ready position, if that makes sense) and let two others be present in the battlefield but not really fighting; just sitting there getting the exp you earn from creaming your enemy with your strong up front pokemon. Its really nothing too difficult to train, especially with the new rotation battle mechanics you can abuse to easily train anything at all. I got a lvl 1 larvesta to become a lvl 60+ volcarona in no time doing this. Less than two days, i did that.

Oh wow, I guess I never really thought of it like that. Thank you for the advice.

Hehehehe, sure. So even if it might be a little hard, if somebody sends you garbage like that....just make use of it instead of getting mad or throwing a fit, etc. Take me for example: people send me rubbish all the time. But what they dont know when they send me their crap pokemon is that i am skilled enough to turn even the most pitifully weak pokemon into strong unstoppable monsters, and very quickly. So do what i do here: make use of it, throwing a fit will only make you miserable >.<

I say constrict, ever heard of that move? It has the lowest base power for an attacking move. For comparison, tackle does 40 or 50 base power. Constrict is so useless. It has a secondary effect, the chance to lower speed, like bubble, but bubbles can be super effective ,while constrict doesn't. Bubbles also has double the power of bubbles. I guess it can does damage....I guess?
