So anyone here play this great playstation series? It's like a anime war game that is pretty addictive. My only issue is that the game went on to be made on PSP only.

I want to bad play it!
I knew about this saga in Proyect X Zone, but I sold my PS3 and my PSP one year ago :p

I was about to like you, because Valkyria Chronicles is my favourite video game series of all time. I suppose you can guess as much from my current avatar. But I cannot agree with you about the series becoming PSP only. If it hadn't, I would have never found it. Valkyria Chronicles 2, despite receiving a lot of hate from bitter cheapskates, is the best video game ever in my opinion and I think anyone who isn't elitist enough to dislike the PSP would agree that it is a great game. I could write a book about how much I love the series. As it is, I'll only elaborate to anyone who wants me to so as not to inconvenience other users.

Don't get me wrong, the game was good, but you can't deny the loss in quality from the PS3 to the PSP game.

Also I'm bum that the USA won't get the 3rd PSP game.

The PSP sequel is even better than the PS3 game in my opinion. There's no loss in quality for me - a huge gain in quality and replay value in my opinion.
I was pretty depressed that the 3rd game won't be localized (and the people who, forgive me, said the exact same thing you said are to blame for that) but it is getting an English patch by fans, so I'm waiting for that.

It's still fact that the PSP game didn't look as great as the PS3 game.

Yeah and I've herd it all, but I suppose those who hated the handheld transfer is the reason they didn't bother localizing the third game. I just hope they continue the series on PS4.

The art style more than made up for the lack in detail. And the game still looked brilliant; of course there wouldn't be as much detail on a less powerful console. But, heck, why am I even arguing about this? I'm very defensive about VC2 since I love it so much and I'll probably end up flaming you so :p let's make peace before that happens :p

FFVII Crisis Core is one of my favorite PSP games and you're right that the character models in CC are better-looking. But the art style in VC2 makes the visuals even better for me. And besides, the gameplay in VC2 surpasses every other game ever made in my own opinion.

I didn't played VC saga, but yeah, the gameplay is more important than the graphics.

You haven't? If you have a PSP or PS3 you should definitely play the VC games. They changed my life :)

Do you think that was a good decision?
I wouldn't sell my PSP for anything. Not when there's Valkyria Chronicles 2 on it.

I feel sad later, but here the economy is really hard.
I just bought my 3DS with my first 3 games with the money, also tried to sell my PSN account but it get hacked.

Technology is really expensive in Argentina, ALL THE TECHNOLOGY, and sadly I can afford a lot of consoles. Right now, I can't afford two consoles. We can't buy dollars, we can't import anything now.

Everything cost the triple. I want to live in another country, seriously.

The loss of the water style type art in VC 2 was a shame, I'm just glad they kept the fantastic gameplay intact. It was also a hard game, when you had to battle Juliana I remember she backed herself in a corner and I used my tank to keep her trap there till I could finally kill her off.

I just used fencers (Alexis rules!) to take on Baldren, Juliana and Dirk. The art style is pretty similar IMO and it looks quite beautiful. The 2D art was also the best I've seen in any game.

Have you ever went back to play the first one after playing the second? It's when I noticed the drop in quality.

I played the first one after playing the second. No drop in quality there.

Fine then, so any favorite characters? Anyone see the VC anime?

Ah, now we're getting somewhere :)

I love them all, but my favourites are in no particular order:
  • Anisette Nelson
  • Noel Willoch
  • Alexis Hilden
  • Randy Hamsun
  • Franca Martin
  • Reiner Tristann
  • Cosette Coalhearth
  • Helmut Bourdais
  • Edy Nelson
  • Aliasse
  • Avan Hardins
  • Pete Stand
Actually, all of them. I love them all! :)

The anime is on my to-watch list, I've watched the first episode and it's very faithful to the game. I also intend to watch the VC3 OVAs. I hear there's a Selvaria shower scene in the VC anime :p
