The "lie" part is a silly joke but I thought Sans was actually going to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I didn't get a chance to watch the Direct earlier today and I did not see any articles about Sans joining the roster, but I heard people talking about it, like @Samster in the shoutbox and @milesiscool123 on his profile.

Turns out he's just a costume for the Mii Gunner Fighter.

I haven't used Mii costumes before so I'm not sure how different it makes Sans from the Mii Gunner Fighter, other than his appearance. I guess it's nice to have more appearance options when playing but I'm hoping he has some sort of unique trait.

From what I heard, the song Megalovania also got added in some regard. I think for the earthbound level or something.

AKA: Sakurai has actually gone insane and has spent too much time on the internet.

Yeah, it’s a costume, but it comes with a remix of Megalovania which is exclusive to SSBU, and it’s only $0.75, which is way cheaper than a character. Plus, he basically looks like how Sans would look if he was a selectable character.

What's the difference between the Sans costume and the Mii Gunner besides "looks"?

Nothing, it’s just for looks, but the music track alone makes it worth it, IMO.

I mean, yeah, I think everyone wanted to see him as a playable character, but I’m guessing if he was, he would overshadow literally everyone else in the Fighter’s Pass. In fact, he kind of already is, lol

EDIT: Plus, I never said he was a playable character in Smash. Here’s the actual quote from the SB :p

Oh my god oh my godddddddddd
They actually put a Sans costume in Smash

Sure he's a gunner now but in the next game he could be a totally original character just like how Chrom was in the previous game. I think this just makes more people want to play the ugly annoying character and then get the DLC for a pretty and slightly less annoying character. Since you can add voice sounds that is going to really be the test of the opponents' sanity. I really like the ability to zone infinitely and combo with Mii Gunners unique moves compared to the rest in the cast aside from the customizability this will just make me want to play my secondary more (and get that rad track to dunk on people with). Besides Sans from the game is the embodiment of shooting anyway. Why does he wear slippers to battle though? You'd think they'd slow him down.
