Weird Obscure Glitch

I was just playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on local multiplayer with my brother and I experienced a very odd glitch. While I was in his town I saw Buck's house with the lights on and I went inside to visit him. To my surprise though, no one was inside, yet I was still able to enter it. I exited his house and saw Buck outside and was very confused. I then entered back into the house to find that Buck had teleported inside and everything was as normal until I found out that Buck was also outside talking to my brother . My brother was also unable to enter Buck's house which Buck and I were in. Another interesting thing about this is that when I or he was talking to Buck the speech bubbles would appear above his head for the other person, yet we could still both talk with him at the same time.

Has anybody else experienced this weird villager cloning glitch at all? Or does anyone know why this occurs? Please let me know, I'm very confused.

Sounds like really bad de-synch. Perhaps there was some networking lag between you two?

(EDIT: Mis-read what you put. Local network? So like, via the same wireless internet or just straight from ds to ds?)

It was just DS connecting to DS I don't see why there would be noticeable lag.

I told my brother to go into a new area so maybe when he came back the main town area would refresh and Buck would be in his house for the both of us. He tried it and he's still outside for him and the speech bubbles are over his head indefinitely even though neither of us are talking to him. This is getting weird

I tried leaving and saw that Buck is indeed still out here for me and still inside and OH MY GOD why is the other Buck's head poking out of the window in his front door . I wish I could take pictures and post them but my 3ds camera is full and I don't have a smartphone currently.

Wow, what a weird glitch. I’ve never heard of that happening to anyone, so that must be the game freaking out, lol. And nope, it’s never happened to me, so I’m just as confused as you are. Has it done it any other times, or was this the only time it’s occured?
