Super Mario Bros. 3. The game of my childhood. Brings back so many memories. The levels are short but sweet. Bosses are annoying, though. World 8 is much too challenging for me. xD

^ This. It's my favorite Mario game and yes, I've played the latest ones (except for NSMB2).

I never made it to World 8, unfortunately. My NES never saved the game so I always had to start from the beginning Took me a few hours to get to the last couple of levels of World 7, but by that time I was always "burnt out" and stopped.

I voted Super Mario Bros. 3 also, same as Mikaya, I played that game all the time when I was younger, it was such an amazing game, I still remember Giant Land, from the Fourth World, amazes me to this day.

I voted Super Mario Bros. 3 also, same as Mikaya, I played that game all the time when I was younger, it was such an amazing game, I still remember Giant Land, from the Fourth World, amazes me to this day.

I also vote for Super Mario bros 3. I loved that game to pieces when I was young, and i still love it so much. It is the best 2D Mario game with the most original, unrecycled content IMO.

Of course that wouldn't happen (have to start over again, look at less improved graphics) if you were from my generation and got SMB3 for the GBA. They had their challenges too. I liked that one for its awesome suit power ups. (It was also E-Reader and multiplayer compatible)

I can happily say that the GBA version of SMB3 was more fun than the original, but the original is good in it's own way. It is the best Mario game on the NES, If I say so.

Super Mario Bros 1, all others too complicated, I like to keep it simple usually. I also am really excited for Mario Kart 8, not excited enough to stay up until midnight just to get it, because if there was a delay, I would've been so mad.

My favorite retro Mario game is, honestly, Super Mario World. It was a lot of fun. I also have absolutely no idea how I got all the way to the end of Special World without a game over... I actually make the mistake of adding "3D" to the title of Super Mario Land/Super Mario World quite frequently. It's like when I start typing I just say 3D by instinct or something. <.<
