I would like to vote Other: Super Mario Bros Lost Levels. It's like taking Super Mario Bros. and mixing it with NES level challenges. The thread title usually fits the topic at hand. Try to do that the next time you make a thread. (It's okay for this one but take note)
Super Mario Bros. 3. The game of my childhood. Brings back so many memories. The levels are short but sweet. Bosses are annoying, though. World 8 is much too challenging for me. xD
^ This. It's my favorite Mario game and yes, I've played the latest ones (except for NSMB2).Super Mario Bros. 3. The game of my childhood. Brings back so many memories.

I also vote for Super Mario bros 3. I loved that game to pieces when I was young, and i still love it so much. It is the best 2D Mario game with the most original, unrecycled content IMO.I voted Super Mario Bros. 3 also, same as Mikaya, I played that game all the time when I was younger, it was such an amazing game, I still remember Giant Land, from the Fourth World, amazes me to this day.
Of course that wouldn't happen (have to start over again, look at less improved graphics) if you were from my generation and got SMB3 for the GBA. They had their challenges too. I liked that one for its awesome suit power ups. (It was also E-Reader and multiplayer compatible)^ This. It's my favorite Mario game and yes, I've played the latest ones (except for NSMB2).
I never made it to World 8, unfortunately. My NES never saved the game so I always had to start from the beginning Took me a few hours to get to the last couple of levels of World 7, but by that time I was always "burnt out" and stopped.
I can happily say that the GBA version of SMB3 was more fun than the original, but the original is good in it's own way. It is the best Mario game on the NES, If I say so.Of course that wouldn't happen (have to start over again, look at less improved graphics) if you were from my generation and got SMB3 for the GBA.
