What are EVs and IVs in Pokemon?

Basically without how to get them, EV's are Effort Values and they help in a specific stats. There is a 508 caps for EV's and 252 cap for each stat. IV's are basically the foundation of all Pokemon's Stats called invdiuval Values
Look here:
Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Toxic Spikes
- Poison Jab
Drapion wants HP for bulk and SpD as well but too much even though it didn't cap to 252. Spe to out speed so a bit of speed is good
