SSB What constitutes projectile spamming?

I don't spam with characters' own special attacks, but when I pick up one of the guns, especially the Ray Gun, I often stand in one place and try to shoot characters off the screen. Does this count as spamming? Because I really can't see how you can move around a lot and do different attacks with the gun limiting your ability to turn quickly and whatnot.



Do you think of spamming as only that of characters' ranged attacks?

For me, yes. Because I usually play without items and when I play with them, it's for the lolz (like "everyone plays as random characters, items off, FD is forbidden") so I don't care at all how people play.

When I play "seriously" though (items off, Omega only), I call ranged spamming the use of a ranged attack followed with dodges to go to the other edge and start using that ranged attack again.

I guess it's all how you look at it. When I use Fox, I shoot his laser blast every know and then, at least 20 times average but not consecutively. However, shooting a Ray Gun 20 times at once will warrant you a slap across the face in some people's minds. As long as you know the kind of match you are having ( Casual or Reggie Mode) you will know when to use that Ray Gun tactic.

Well, what counts as "spamming" anyways? Doing the same thing twice? Thrice? I have no idea. However, I don't think that that counts as spamming because isn't that what you're supposed to do anyways? They give you a gun with multiple shots and you're supposed to USE THEM.

For me spamming (that I often experience online) is:

I wouldn't consider consecutively using the Ray Gun to be spamming because using it now and then makes really no sense But if it comes to character projectiles , then yeah , I'd agree on that to be spamming , I'd never imagine someone not spamming the Ray Gun

It is spamming because when you spam you repeatedly pressing the same button constantly to get the same result. I personally hate the Ray gun because it's even more broken than in brawl. My friend always allow Ray guns to be on and he always rape me with it.
