I find that using a GameCube adapter is best, but my brother got the game, not me. I know it is very challenging to find a GameCube Adapter now, so I might have to go for the Pro Controller instead. What do you think is best?

This is an already existing conversation, but..the Gamecube controller is the best if you have the adapter. If not, then the Pro Controller is the closest alternative. I think the adapter comes bundled with the limited edition Smash controller and Smash wii U, but if you already have the game, then it's pretty pointless.

I do dislike the Pro Controller a lot- it feels a lot different from the gamecube and the buttons are different

smash is a good game i like it it is fun

smash is good for fiding it is funny to kill people

It is a tie between Gamecube, Classic Controller, and Wii U Pro. Gamecube because of the legacy it has on the Smash Bros Franchise, Classic Controller because of how cheap you can get them, and Wii U Pro because of simmilarity to the Gamepad.

P.S. Well, you can get a third party WiiU/PC adapter (so that way you can use it also for playing roms on Dolphin) if you like Gamecube.

in my my opinon is using the 3ds as a controller because in the wii u the block and grab are confusing but the 3ds conroller is easy to use

I'd say the Gamecube controller and the Wii U Classic Controller Pro. Both of these controllers are really, really comfortable to hold and use, and I feel like they have a really convenient button layout, that really helps when playing games like Super Smash Bros. The Gamecube controller is my all-time favourite as I have used it ever since the Gamecube days.

I personally think the GameCube Controller is the best option, but if it isn't, you can purchase a Wii Classic Controller GameCube Style for roughly $25. The Classic Controller option does require a Wii remote so keep that in mind. Overall I think the GameCube controller is the best option for anyone.

I think the wii u pro controller is best. It has a good grip and is easy to use. Ssb gamecube controller isn't worth the money imo. Out with all the old controllers and adapters and in with the new pro controllers and wireless adaptors!

The GameCube controller is pretty amazing for that and other action games.

I'd say Wii U gamepad. That's because I don't own a GameCube controller. :p I think it's comfortable holding the gamepad more than then the Wii remote sideways and a lot easier to move. Who uses wii remotes anyway xD. Also, I wanna try the Wii U pro controller. Haven't been able to buy it yet. But I want to try it out cause it looks cool. :p

I agree with you. I like using the gamecube controller because I am used to it, and it allows for tech. For instance, I always try to dash dance (or dance dash, whichever one it is, I forget), but you can't do that on the 3ds controller. I could also go for the Wii U pro controller, but the flat shape of the actual wii u controller just...doesn't seem right...

So I decided to make the GP my mine choice for Smash and thanks to so button configuration now it feel as good as a GC controller to me. The only thing I change was ZR/ZL as my shield and roll and L/R as my grab. It feels great and very nature to my hands. It's great because I use off screen play a lot so I don't have to worry about control adjustment with the pad. I'm still probably going to have to get the adapter. My friends and cousin hate the wii-mote/chuck combo and it's probably the cheaper way to go then getting another pro since I already have GC controller lying around. So, any GP users out there and loving it.

The game cube controller is a good option if you play melee, but if you don't have it good luck because controllers are very scarce to come by but the pro controller is next in line. But in essence use what ever controller you see fit. I am using my game cube controller when I play my cousin Wii u

The Wii remote and nunchuck are a great choice for me. I tend to get lost on learning the controls and I am pretty much forced to learn fast in this game. The Wii remote alone is a bit confusing since I forget which button attacks, does the smash attack, and do the specials. The Wii remote and nunchuck are more organized.

I used to use the Wii mote to brawl on my Wii but I also forgot which button grabs and dashes and jump and do specials. I find the game cube controller helpful because I played smash bros melee and I am close to the controller frfr. Also I perform best with it.

The wii remote definitely because I was always good with it since super smash bros brawl! And it is just tons of fun to play as and it isnt very big . And there are lots of other unique techs I found with the wii remote and other ways to grab and perform smashes and lots of other stuff

I like the Wii note and munchkin because it is very unique as a controller and I really gotten used to it as well but I couldn't pull off as much ATs as I did expected. That is fine because I am still winning battles. I also do good in matches with my game cube controller and Wii note nunchuk. I am so comfortable with the Wii note and I still manage to use them when I play brawl and I am still familiar with them.
