What Do I need to do to join the Pokémon Gym thing? I have heard so much about it and it has really piqued my interest. So are there any Specific requirements that I must go through to do this Pokémon Gym Challenge?

You just need to request a battle at any of the Gym threads, wait for the Leader to respond and arrange a time for battling. Remember to pay the 3 PC fee too.
