The Tent that is Cool
Towns Folk
Let me just start off on how fun animal crossing WW was for me. I used to play it all the time! I also spent an entire spring break playing it. Even though the concept is very simple, there's just that fun aspect and sense of completion when you, pay your dept to Nook, or make a bunch of money, decorate your dream house. There's just like an endless stream of possibilities in this game. Now let me ask you, what was your Animal Crossing experience like?

My trek through the Animal Crossing world has been pretty fun. I didn't really get into the game until New Leaf, but I've enjoyed every single one since the NGC one!
I'm going to speak more for New Leaf since that's the game I've played most. When I first started up the game and was greeted by Rover, I had a huge nostalgic moment where I remembered playing the NGC game way back in the early 2000s. I already knew I was going to love the game, and when my town announced me as the Mayor, I was surprised, but pleasantly so. The graphics were so much better than I was used to, because I didn't play much of City Folk, instead opting to play Wild World obsessively for a while. With all the new features New Leaf had to offer, I couldn't put the game down for the longest time. I've restarted my town several times, but I think I'm going to stick with my current town, because it has a really nice aesthetic going on. Plus I have 8 dream villagers, so that's definitely a plus!

You know, I thought about something interesting. As you know, today is my birthday. What makes it a coincidence is what happened on my 24th birthday, which is on 2008. That very day, it was the release of City Folk for the Wii! Not often will I have a game that is there at the same time as my birthday.

I used to start a new game every summer break and see how far I could get in 45 days. It was serious fun! I actually found it to be my favourite Animal Crossing game, even more than New leaf was! I played Wild world for 2 hours everyday, making it 90 hours of gameplay. I never catched a single winter fish or bug. Still I got loads of them!

I love it, it is amazing how they just keep adding stuff and they never ever stop making these games they made achhd as a distraction for an even bigger game.Still waiting for announcements even after the 'distraction' I might wait for it.Giving 4.5\5 as my final rating.Amazing game don't ever ever stop playing it.For people like me.

Gameplay is open ended: players have no defined objectives, but are instead encouraged to spend their time in the village performing any number of activities, which include collecting items, planting plant or other items, and socializing with the village's residents. All Animal crossing games are played in real time, utilizing the systems internal clock and calendar. Thus, passage of time in the game world reflects that in reality, as well as the current season and time of day.

I feel it's one of those games you have to have someone else play with you for it to reach at maximum fun level

Yeah I see that actually.

I love Animal Crossing, my first AC game was Wild World. I didn't really play it at all though 'cause I had no idea what to do :hilarious: The only thing I remember was making some clothes and selling fruit. After a couple of years I decided to start playing AC for realz and New Leaf was out so I bought it. It was really fun being mayor and all, and the events were fun too. I really like the Fishing Tourneys.

What I think of Animal Crossing: New Leaf is that it's slowly consuming my life :rotfl: I mean, seriously. I got addicted to it for a couple of weeks after I bought it. I think Animal Crossing's great and all but really addiciting and took me a while to stop >.<

New Leaf is actually my first AC game and my only one.

I really love it, it's super sweet when I just need some light time. I don't like that you have to play daily, which means my town often gets "destroyed". I tend to play with bursts, sort of? I'll play aily for a month, working hard on my town, then a new game comes out and I forget to play, then I spend time fixing it and play again for another month or so, etc.

My first Animal Crossing game was the one for the GameCube, and I found it incredibly fun (seeing as how it appealed me then because I was a lot younger). However, even though I got New Leaf for free (from Club Nintendo), I just never really got in to it. I'm the type of gamer that loves to get things and objectives done immediately, and so having to wait real days (or turning my calendar forward, although it kinda defeats the entire purpose) to unlock buildings or to do certain things just didn't really appeal to me. I gave it a shot though; I even tried the multiplayer. Just not the series for me. But occasionally, I do go back and play the Gamecube one. I wish they would release an HD version on the Wii U eShop >.<

When I first played it on the GameCube I didn't know what to expect but I loved it nonetheless. My family made sure to follow the series (like we did with Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons).

I love the easy going life goes on with or without you feel and how the game is just fun even with a storyline.

Animal Crossing is one of those games that proves it doesn't have to be a hack-n-slash, gore, shooter to be remembered and go down in gaming history.

I used to play Animal Crossing on the Game Cube during the summer since I spent most of my days at a friend's house who had it. It was pretty fun, though I haven't playing any of the other games since. I've been meaning to get back into it and play it on my DS and 3DS. Does anyone know a good game to start with?

Hnn, I played a whole bunch of Animal Crossing on my gamecube when I was younger and thought it was very fun! But I never liked how shops had open/close times! while the game was still real time... I ended up doing a whole bunch of time travel, whether it was to do events I liked, open stores when I wanted into them since I mostly play games at night, get money from my parents at New Years because I was terrible at making money in that game... and collect the dog's music songs to play in my house. My mom hated that dog.
The NES collection was really fun--I bought my favourite NES game from AC from the eShop so I can still play it--and I also enjoyed completing the museum. I'm not sure if the museum is still a thing in new games, I hope that it is... the festivals were also pretty nice.
I never cared too much about the house decorating, which is the whole state of the 'newest' game--I always saw house decorating as something that you did once and then mainly forgot about. The NPCs houses always looked so much nicer than I could even conjure..

Ultimately though I like Fanatsy Life a little bit better since it's a similar type of open-end, and stayed with the Story of Seasons series while I don't play AC anymore. :x

For me personally, it's been a pretty great experience and I love it, although I have to admit that I got Fantasy Life pretty recently and I've been OBSESSED with it and haven't played Animal Crossing as much, I need to play it some more though.......

Animal Crossing is a fun and peaceful game that can keep you entertained for years!
Parents don't have to worry about their children seeing violence in games as Animal Crossing is very peaceful and friendly!
Even though some of the villagers have identical personalities, they all seem to act like individually different people!
Animal Crossing stands to be one of my favorite games to this day!

I think it's a creative game and a outside alternative this vs real outdoors. This gets repetitive after a while and the animals feel like real computers not trying to be like animal citizens. Grinding for money is like chores going to the island and catching bug and sharks. But what do I know, I don't have chores. I don't know what chores feel like but grinding seems worse.

I think it's a very peaceful and relaxing game, it's not like games like smash where your heart is racing after you almost got killed and such, it's one of those games where you take your time on things to make it look fantastic. So I really do like the game and it's a nice thing to do when I'm bored.

My thoughts on the game is that it's fun and cute. Also very addictive at times to where sometimes I wish the day and night wasn't like it is so you can play even more in a day. The idea they had for the game is nice but there are a few things I wish they would have allowed us to do like build in some of the ideas for happy homes and allow you to move town projects where you want after you build them. Also more space .
