What do you think of the N3DS's analog nub placement?

As @D4rkDragon recently posted on his profile, SSB4 3D won't be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro, but it will be compatible with the N3DS's analog nub. Do you guys feel cheated? :panda:

So anyway, what I mean to say is: what do you think of the New 3DS's analog nub placement?

I think it's terrible. While having a second analog stick is what lots of 3DS owners wanted, I doubt anyone imagined it would be so tiny and awkwardly placed. I can't imagine it being comfortable while playing a lot of 3DS games that are currently compatible with the Circle Pad Pro, if the analog nub works with them at all. Let's take Resident Evil: Revelations for example - quite how you're supposed to shoot with the Y button and aim with that thing at the same time eludes me. :oldman: The only solution would be to switch to the control scheme that has you drawing your gun with L and firing with R, which most RE players are unfamiliar with.

What do you guys think? I know this may sound a little like a 'hate on the N3DS' thread, but still - do you think the new analog nub is all right or would you change it if you could? :coffee:

(*Yes, I feel cheated by Nintendo, see the small star I added to your quote)

Personally, I think the N3DS' C-Stick is a joke. Seriously, how does Ninty expect our fingers not to slide on that GC controller's Start button rip-off (Heck, even the Start button was bigger)?

I fear the worst on games like Monster Hunter and Smash Bros 4 3DS. On Monster Hunter, playing with that thing will just be like playing with a Circle Pad Pro, but with punching gloves on. For SSB4, I can already expect the number of times many players will get accidentally KO'd because their fingers will slide off the C-Stick.

Also, nullifying the effects/advantages of the Circle Pad Pro on SSB4 sounds lame from Nintendo, if it doesn't even sounds like they're forcing us to upgrade to N3DS.

So, as I said in my profile (see the (Reaction) comment), that's another bad move from Nintendo. It's not like that they'll attract more "core" gamers, as they want. They're doing the contrary !

I never play using Circle Pad Pro, so anyone can tell me how to press the ABXY button while playing with that C-stick? It's too small and I think, would be broken easily.

My friend played Animal Crossing and he broke the analog stick... How about smaller analog x__x

I see where your coming from with the weird placement of the new analog stick... but let me ask you this: @Spinnerweb where else could they have placed it where it wouldn't be as awkward? I think Nintendo was fairly smart when they placed it there.. but I guess we'll have to wait and see how it feels ;)

Placing the face buttons lower and making an identical Circle Pad to the actual one above the face buttons. :cat:

I guess that would make enough sense ;P

In truth, I wished they would move the circle pad on the left to the bottom, and had an identical one on the left with similar placement, like the Psp line. :) I also wish that they hadn't changed the start/select/home layout. I liked the positioning of the old 3ds. Why revert back to the DS/lite/i layout?
