I'm pretty sure Fortnite made the cut ever since it was released on the Nintendo Switch eShop for free.

Well, when referring to the wii u eshop, I feel like earthbound would be one of the most bought vc games for the snes at some point. Earthbound fans definitely thanked Nintendo for that, and oh, look at that, I was correct.

The recent Virtual Console release of Super NES game EarthBound is, according to Nintendo, off to a great start. In an announcement from Nintendo of America today, the company said the Wii U game was the third best selling eShop game on Wii U, with only New Super Luigi U and Pikmin 3 besting the SNES re-release in terms of consumer spend.

Fortnite is definitely by far one of the most popular games on the Nintendo eShop as of now. I feel like Super Mario Party is doing well for itself too, and I’ve heard REALLY good things about Undertale and Hollow Knight too.

Fortnite for sure. Its a free game, so of course anyone would want to get it.

I think it's Smash Ultimate, Mario Party, Pokken Tournament, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 in that order when it comes to 1st party games excluding bundles. Splatoon 2 is 5th because there's already the one for Wii U and the number may make you want to play the first one first (also because the story is connected) and the ones like Mario Party and Ultimate are on top because you can just play them with friends locally and not buy the online mode.
