What games do you recommend to a new Wii U user?

I just bought the Mario Maker Wii U bundle 3 weeks ago. I am thinking of buying a new Wii U game. Maybe Smash Wii U or Splatoon. Any games you would recommend?
 
In my opinion, you should also get: Wind Waker HD, MK8, Yoshi's Wooly World and Pikmin 3 all of which I have btw (except pikmin 3, but planning on getting it) If you can only buy one, then I suggest Wind Waker HD, since it's a great remake of a great game, and the HD graphics just make the game even better (and it's also kinda long, though there's some filler at a certain point)
