I just watched a theory on Youtube about Red, because I never played pokemon Gold/Silver (shame on me! XD) I never heared of a guy named Red.
After I did some research about him I found out that he was the main character in Pokemon Red/Blue, but because I never played that game too (shame on me again...) it still isn't very clear to me what happened, why he vanished, who he was etc.

Does anyone has some clues about it because i'm very interested in this kind of stuff.

Thanks for your time!

Well there is not much to tell. He is a veteran, who defeated Team Rocket, the Elite Four and his rival Blue (in Kanto). After his victory he visited Mt. Silver in Jotho to become stronger. When you are playing pokemon Gold/Silver, you have the chance to challenge him there.

Pretty much what Zibaze said...not to mention he is very strong.

You can also check out Pokémon Origins the anime it gives you some back story on him. I won't spoil the show for you but there is one thing that pops up in the show that doesn't in the game.

Well, let's think, he travelled, he beat team rocket, he became champion and then sat at the top of the mountain for 6 years xD (or however many years) If your looking at origins his pretty much Ash only more stronger.

Yeah...though I wonder how the series would have been if they used Red instead of Ash? Obviously Charizard would be popular but Red also has a Pikachu.

maybee he is gone in another dimension. Maybee hoopa dimension...

He became a Pokemon trainer at the age of 11, travelled the Kanto region with his starter Pikachu, captured lots of Pokemon, took down Team Rocket, conquered the Gyms and Elite Four, defeated his rival and became Champion. Afterwards he found nothing else challenging enough, so he went to Mt. Silver to train until Gold/Kris/Lyra came and defeated him, after which he disappeared, presumably returning home. That's the gist of it.

Better than ash. Ash keeps foiling team rockets evil plans, but just barely. Red did so much more. He didn't stop them, he defeated them. He defeated the league, became champion, and climbed a mountain. He's like a sensei, with that climbing and sitting at the top of a mountain for so long

Yeah, I was gonna say, as @Jeff The Killer mentioned, the 4 episode mini-series Pokemon Origins is actually really great. If you're interested in Red, then you should probably watch those. There are only 4 episodes, and the voiceovers are great. Plus, Kirito from SAO was the voice of Red I believe, even though he doesn't talk much.

He became the champion of the Pokémon league, and then he decided that he wanted to train even further and headed to Mt.Silver.
That's it.
There's no Mysterious story behind it.
There's no amazing plot or anything.
And I think the reason he doesn't have any dialogue is, because he was your character throughout the original red and blue.
In GSC, your new character reaches Mt.Silver, and what are you faced with? The toughest challenge of your adventure yet;
A battle against your former self.

Haha! I heard a theory about Red and why he disappeared! Remember his Snorlax? Well I heard that there is a mountain were Snorlax goes all the time or once a year? To go eat and stuffs himself silly with food and then comes down back to the region and blocks a path to rest from all the food he just ate and digests it. After its done taking a nap, it goes back to that mountain, wash, rinse , repeat. So I think Red disappeared because he's in that mountain feeding that snorlax of his xD:cat::giggle::rolleyes:

Red became a trainer when his professor and next door neighbor Oak saved him from being killed by the ravenous level 2 pidgeys and rattatas in the tall grass. Oak leads him back to the lab and gives him a choice of 3 pokemon, charmander, squirtle, and bulbasaur. Theory says that he chose charmander and found and caught the other 2 on his journey. Red went around the whole Kanto region, exploring every nook and cranny of his home, and finally found himself facing the Pokemon League, which he defeated using a great deed of strategy and the connection to his Pokemon. When he reached the end and left the league, he ventured out after the three legendary birds, articuno, zapdos, and moltres. But even as the last ultra ball clicked, Red knew there was something he had missed, and one day found himself in front of Cerulean cave, listening to the odd sound of battle emanating from the opening. He ventured into the cave, shifting through a maze of stone and soil until finally his eyes met with a giant cavern holding the greatest Pokemon in all of Kanto, Mewtwo. After a tough battle, Red had Mewtwo in his pokedex and could finally rest, but with every step he took, the more understanding he had that the journey wasn't over yet. Some people say Red never came home again, some just say he had to keep going, but we all knew that when we found Red on Mount Silver, it wasn't the cheerful trainer we had helped him become. He was only a husk of the trainer he was without us to guide him, and without us, he spiraled into madness on top of that mountain, only leaving to tear down the hopes of other champions in the league. That, is Reds story, our story.

Red was the first game character (main one) created in the history of pokemon. He starts off with a charmander to complete the pokedex. Though he does completer the pokedex, he also becomes very strong. He defeats the elite 4, his rival Blue and then goes off to mount silver...

I think that that is a question that the whole world will not know . Red is a character of mystery to me and I 'm totally not sure what happened to him . I can imagine that maybe he wandered away or something XD But we can only wonder . Maybe he's in a cave or someth'n :panda:

Red died because he aged. Ash lives because he doesn't.
