What If Disney Did This Instead

What if instead of making a movie about Timons' backstory in the Lion King ¹/2 what if they had done a movie about Scar and Mufasa. You know their backstory.

There is tons and tons of great fanfictions and fan-art about them as children and how they grew up based off what the Lion King Wiki says but to have Disney make and actual movie about it would be cool!

Or maybe a movie about Simbas' son, Kopa (because at the end of part one that cub was clearly not Kiara).

What do you guys think?

What would it be called? The Lion King 1 3/4? That's what I think it would be. Actually, now that I think about it, they should just leave it at three movies, because four would be too confusing. Trust me, I used to like The Land Before Time, and I lost interest in it around Six or Seven. I know it's a different company entirely that makes it, but that's beside the point.

Great idea. But where would it end? With Scar being cast out. Maybe that's the reason it never happened - Disney might think it's overkilling Scar: having him torn apart by hyenas at the end of the first film, and cast out in the prequel.

Another story about Simba himself would be nice, though :D The Lion King 2 was great but not a fraction as good as the first one, which is one of my favourite films overall. The Lion King 1/2 was hilarious. :rotfl:

There's a 2?! I clearly missed a part of my childhood. When did it come out? I remeber watching 1 and I really liked it so I just have to watch this one. And what's the stuff about Lion King 1/2? Like, before the Lion King? Half the Lion King? (Would that make a prince or someone who is half lion half king?o_O)

._.

It came out in 1998. I thought everyone who watched the original watched the second one too.
The Lion King 1/2, a.ka. The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata is set in the same time as the first film, but it focuses on Timon and Pumbaa and their adventures and how they had a hand in lots of things that happened in the first film. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever watched. My sister and I watched it hundreds of times as kids and we knew, and even now remember almost all of, the dialogues, even the gestures the characters would make, and the songs. :D Dig a tunnel, dig-dig a tunnel... :singing:

I was born in 1998. By the time I watched the Lion King the hype was long gone, so I had no idea. I really love the Lion King so this is a nice surprise. Thanks for the details, I'll watch them soon. :D
