As all of you can tell there's always that video game that you just absolutely love with all your heart. You grew up with that game and it kinda made you who you are today. It didn't matter if was on xbox, playstation, or on a nintendo console. As long as you played the game you were happy. what is your childhood video game? and why?

As some of you can tell i love Mega Man, but not just any Mega Man! Mega Man Legends. For those of you who don't know that game, Mega Man Legends is a semi-open world 3D game. You go around making weapons by using parts that you find underground. i loved it because of the characters and the charm that the game gave. it's a great game and i absolutely recommend it to those.

oh yeah ignore the poll vote thing, i'm still new to this lol, i'm kinda slow so just ignore it

my childhood video games were lego star wars for gba and lego star wars 2 for the
pokemon fire red, leafgreen, ruby, sapphire spiderman 2 for gba

I'd probably say Zelda OoT. It wasn't the first video game I played but I have good memories of playing it with my cousin, being stuck in the Water Temple. At the moment we didn't own it so we would go and rent it over and over again, until her parents decided to buy it XD

Also, Donkey Kong Country on SNES, I don't know why but I have three things that are always linked from a specific summer in my childhood:

Donkey Kong Country, Doritos and Lion King.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Racing against my sister in its 2-player mode, we'd always have false starts and argue for half an hour.
  • Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider II - one of my earliest childhood memories is waking up early to play them on the computer.
  • Shining Force - probably the first SRPG I ever played.
  • Dink Smallwood - an obscure, isometric RPG that was one of the earliest games I've played.

I totally forgot about Tomb Raider! I played the first one a lot and gosh I loved it! It was amazing to see such a strong woman as the protagonist... sure she was so unreal as well but still... was a good change.

I used to call Lara my 'auntie.' When I couldn't find the game, I'd tell my sister I was looking for the 'Auntie's game'. :rotfl:

The Bard's Tale series (C64/PC) and/or the Ultima series (except for 9 and Online). They just used to paint such vivid stories, compared to today's games.

'course, with how long ago it was, it's quite possible that my memory is playing these up quite a bit.

Mega Man Legends series was my treasure and the reason I bought a 3DS. It's so fun and challenging, including the spin-off (The Misadventure of Tron Bonne). And actually, I played all kinds of Mega Man title in my childhood (except Battle Network and Starforce), currently playing Mega Man Zero Collection.

I have a couple but here's the top 4:
  • Pokemon (Specifically Red/Yellow and Emerald): Red/Yellow was the first Pokemon games I ever played while Emerald was the first I ever beat.
  • Crash Bandicoot (Specifically 3): Probably the biggest reason why I'm into platformers.
  • Spyro 2: I have many memories of this game. But the most memorable was when I was able to reach the third part of the game. The problem was my PS1 didn't have a memory card at the time (Yes kids, consoles back then didn't have internal storage xD). I was so sad when I had to turn the game off and lose all that progress when bedtime came around.
  • Megaman X6: This game. Its such a poorly put together game now that I've played X1-5 (The soundtrack still rocks though :D). But I found it to be a really neat game at the time. My interest in challenging games today like Dark Souls most likely came from playing this way too much lol

The Jak and Daxter series for me. I've beat the original game so many times. I've started speedrunning it actually, can hundred percent it in about 2 hours 30 minutes or so. Still practicing on that.

The first game I ever played was 'Mario Kart Double Dash!!' for GameCube, it made me love the Mario series and, although I wasn't very good at it in my young age, I still enjoyed it a lot. It's also why I continue to play Mario Kart today and I would not have been as good at it if it wasn't for my childhood experience with Double Dash.

Since this is not in the Nintendo discussions I would say that my childhood game that was my favorite was Sonic The HedgeHog : Triple Trouble . It was an amazing game to me and I really liked to play it a lot and though I never ever really beat the actual game , I really liked going through the same levels and bosses and it brings so good memories >.<

Mine was A Link to the Past (SNES). It was the game that got me into the whole LoZ series. I was young, so I got stuck at times but received help from family (those tricky puzzles can be difficult). I still enjoyed it though, and was pretty much glued to it most of the time. I was happy to relive this awesome game when it was ported to the GBA, it contains many hours of gameplay to get through.
